Beside the "hover" feature, you can also have messages 'saved' which sends them to your standard e-mail address and you can read the full text there - if you like it, you can come back and read the message on the site and respond; if you don't, you can go back and 'delete unread' which gives a clear indication that you aren't interested in them.

I'm with the others, I'm completely turned off by your name - and your picture. If I want someone's ass in my face, I want it to be the ass of someone I know. Pictures also pop up with the hover thing, and even with a suposedly decent screen name, your picture would cause you to be deleted from our mailbox.

If you're just looking for a quick, kinky hook-up with no other attachments, then fine - but even those who are mostly sexually oriented typically want a bit more in a partner, so don't be so surprised that people delete you from their mail.

Killerangel -> RE: 'Deleted unread' (1/27/2011 12:55:03 PM)

I'd delete your emails in a heartbeat, it's the name and picture. You can explain all you want in a thread or in your profile or whatever why you chose the name but if it's just popping up in an email box where the recipient has no idea why you chose your name then you're out of luck on communicating why you chose it and you're stuck with the immediate impression it makes.

You're on a medium that uses the written word, why would you choose a name that is very specifically sexual and then say 'yeah, but that's not the real me'. If it's not 'all' you want then how do you expect people to divine that when we don't know each here except by what we write of ourselves? I'm not disparaging your use of whatever name you want, it's just that I'm not looking to hookup with people for sexual acts so I'd delete your email on the basis that it was clear that we were not a match for each other.

BINGO!

If anyone on the other side of this site want's to figure me out, the cool lil read forum post feature is their friend. Yes, FukinTroll is an email that WILL be deleted unread for the same reasons Killerangel stated, but as I said before: this is the /s market, if the /s is interested in me they will contact me. Deferring to her again, if you are trying to elicit a positive response you need to represent yourself more thoughtfully.

If I email a local s type and I'm "deleted unread" that's IT. She is now outside My vision. Subs get ONE chance with the Hill dude. If they don't like My initial overture, I'm not wasting more time on them.

Fair enough, you've got a point.
Of course one of the dangers of hitting the delete key too quickly is missing out on an opportunity, because as you pointed out...it's only coming once. That being said I wouldn't have a problem doing it in a case where I strongly felt that I'd be a complete mismatch with the email sender.

I am curious about this.  What about if a half-year later after getting into the boards and reading your posts and such she sends you a message?

Do you reply that she missed her chance?

Delete unread?

How do you handle that one chance thing in that situation?

If she sees the error of her ways, I'll answer. As the profile says, I'm only lQQking for friends. If it goes further. I'm cool with it.

My point is that if I email someone once and they dont answer, I dont send more. I have better things to do with My time than beg.

I thought that it was likely an, "I am only sending one message."

But then again, you might have an excel sheet that you use for your messages and, like Santa, are keeping a list.
