Why not have a section for professional services and leave the rest for those interested in lifestyle?  Seems to me if one is looking for a pro then they would go to one of many other sites that specialize in that.  So why have pros listed on here?

Welcome to the boards.  This is the intro section and not quite the right forum to ask this question.  And it's been asked more than once, if not at least once a week at the very least.  Good luck though, don't be surprised if this gets moved to a more appropriate forum.

Welcome to CM. If you scroll down the home page of the message boards, there is a section for professional services.

I checked all the forms and did not see one for commenting on this site.  If this gets asked so often doesn't that tell the site operators something?

There may be a board for pro services, but why have pro profiles mixed in with lifestyle ones?

Because profiles are just that, profiles.  This is a free site with hard working volunteers who do their best to monitor the boards.  If you don't like a profile, then hide it or block it, who'd have time to go through every profile and check if they're pro or not?  I sure as hell don't want that job and who cares?

I mean really, we're all adults, so you take the good with the bad and learn to filter out what you're not looking for.  Now ain't that easy?

No actually, it is not easy.  When pros "veil themselves" as being non pro.  Try investing time, energy and emotion into someone who finally says that they need you to join a website so you can see their private photo gallery.  Or many then just want you to pay a tribute (fee) only once to prove you are sincere.  It serves everyone's best interest for all of us to be honest and up front.  After all we are all adults as you say.

So some feedback regarding this site is considered to be "off topic"  hmmmm.

No, it ws moved to off-topic because it doesn't fit in the intro section. It doesn't fit in the general BDSM section, either.

Hoping for a segregated site (pro vs non-pro) is futile. Enough entries of that type and it might get moved to the Polls and other Random Stupidity section.

Ok, indulge me here.  Who gets to decide who is pro and who is lifestyle? Is it a self-designated appellation? It may be in everyone's best interest to be honest and up front, how do you enforce that?

Yes. That people are incapable of using the search function to find all the other threads wherein it was outlined that doing so would create more work for them in terms of programming plus all the extra bitching people would do about those who don't use the professional label and then all the extra work for fixing/deleting reported profiles for not using the professional label.

Basically... it would make a lot more work for volunteers.

I suggest sucking it up or demanding a refund.

If your complaint is that people hide the fact that they're pros right now, how would having a separate section for them make them more likely to come clean?  You seem to think that your proposed self-identification method will work better than the current self-identification method.

And how much time, energy, and emotion have you invested by the time they ask you to join a website?  Two or three cmails?

DS made my point here. OP, if someone is veiling their intent by your entry on post #6 then why in the hell would they choose to check off the box that says pro?

My other point of who gets to decide who is lifestyle and who is pro...well, I think you are a pro Domme OP. Regardless of what you have checked off on your profile I believe I'll report you as being a pro Domme. You're not? Well I guess the moderators will have to decide and they don't know either of us so how do they determine that?
Do you see why blacklisting and pointing fingers isn't going to work either?

There isn't a way to effectively determine who is pro and who isn't and this is a free site, there isn't the manpower to even begin thinking about instituting any kind of restrictions which wouldn't work anyway. You'll have to do it yourself like the rest of us or go somewhere else.

I am a lifestyle submissive who recently turned pro.  I have a profile up for my professional services as well as my personal life.  I don't see anything wrong with it as long as people are upfront about who they are and what they seek.

There isn't anything wrong with being pro, I have no problems with it at all, I'm glad you all are out there for whoever wishes to use your services- good luck with things! It's very nice that you are upfront with your intentions, others are not. Unfortunately there's no way to enforce everyone who uses this site to be honest.

As others have said, how do you intend to force people who are NOT being up front in the first place to use a special section for pros? As has been said, this site is staffed by volunteers, which is part of the reason that it is free. If you think that said volunteers have the time to investigate every he said/ she said where the guy accuses the woman of bait and switch (or vice versa), then you do not understand how large this site really is.

Last I checked, it was 500 new members per day.

Are you volunteering to check those 500 profiles for signs of prodomliness, every day? Are you willing to spend even more hours per day investigating he said/ she said claims, many from people who are pissed at being rejected, for free? If not, then why do you expect a site run by volunteers to do it for you?

That said, if you are investing much time, energy, and particularly emotion, into someone you contacted online a week or two ago, the site is not your biggest problem... just saying.

People who do that now, they would do that anyway even if there were separate profile searches.
