It is pathetic if mnottertail is attempting to fall back on titles of authority. It means he is desperate.

What titles of authority?

Did you get lost in your own thread?

Ishtarr do you realize that titles are not relevant to logic? mnottertail is guilty of the very thing he accuses me of, logical fallacies of illegitimate appeal to authority. Logic is not like any other subject. You would know this if you actually studied it.

I never said tittles where relevant to logic... I said that you've repeatedly demonstrated that you don't understand the beginning principals of first order logic and are therefore not a reputable source on determining what's logical or not... especially when going against a professor of philosophy, who is a reputable source...

And further you're again committing a logical fallacy, tu quopue, to be precise.

Whether or not mnottertail has committed an ad hominem in a debate against you is absolutely irrelevant to the current debate and the validity of his current claims.

Further, your posts are so littered with logical fallacies that it's pointless to even try to point them all out, or to attempt to make you understand how illogical your arguments are... seeing that you obviously don't even get which fallacies you've committed when they're explained to you in detail.

There is no point debating with you, because you keep stacking up fallacy upon fallacy, even in the debate on if you or mnottertail has committed one to begin with...

You're going around in circles, proving nothing, supporting nothing and making empty claim upon empty claim...

I recall this really cool line from the Vin Diesel film The Chronicles of Riddick. I thought to share it with everyone.

"In normal times, evil would be fought by good. But in times like these, it must be fought by a different kind of evil." —-Aereon, The Chronicles Of Riddick

This is a repost for reasons stated in the post from another thread. "Is Love Inconvenient?" in All Forums >> [Community Discussions] >> General BDSM Discussion located at http://www.collarchat.com/m_3548516/tm.htm

quote:

You doubt a woman can understand the concept of nesting?

No, that was not on my mind. My understanding is deep. It is extremely unlikely that your understanding is deep. I did not wish to digress so I cut to the chase. You assume that all that I have on my mind is what women can or cannot grasp. I'll put it this way, I look forward to being pleasantly surprised. That said, it isn't on the forefront of my mind either. You are being much too suspicious.

In another thread "Value of Poetry" in All Forums >> [Community Discussions] >> Gorean Lifestyles located at http://www.collarchat.com/m_3552515/tm.htm this dreadful person went on about generosity. Generosity on your part is in order, but I'll have to explain something else before I can say what I want to say here. In that thread I wrote "Logic has bounds and meters." The people I am confronting have a shallow understanding of logic. They really haven't spent much time studying it. As I see it you are being shallow too, but in another way. Logic is not all powerful and not everything falls under the umbrella of logic. Most things in life don't. Some things do. This was my intended segue for the title of the thread "Value of Poetry". Poetry can take you to that place that logic cannot. I'll have to repost this there. After the discipline of logic comes the discipline of poetry. Call that a thesis.

By asking for generosity I'm not making an appeal to logic. I'm making an appeal to civility. You, as in the generic you, want civility, but I see no evidence that you are willing to give it. It is all about what I can do for you and not what you can do for me. I'm turning the tables, but in doing so I am encouraging you to return to your true self. The what men owe women, for example, is worn out. It does not encourage civility. It does, but in a manner that is hollow. It is Luciferian according to the less than complimentary connotation. What I'm saying is that at its foundation is a lie. I'm not interested in that paradigm. I don't want anything to do with it. I find it sickening. I don't want lies. I think it is fair to say that we both don't really want that.

There was a problem with the BBCode that I needed to fix.

No he didn't.
He never mentioned "generosity".

He mentioned the methodological principle of charity, which has got nothing to do with generosity or even with the act of being charitable.

I'm not going to cast pearls before swine.

Unless you actually manage to contribute something to this board besides unsupported statements, fallacious accusations, misquotings, and mindless nonsensical rambles, there is no point in posting poetry in response to you, because it will only make you feel validated in the false perceptions of your own grandeur.

I have went back and read this topic twice, and still cannot see a connection to anything Gorean. It really seems to belong in the off topic section somewhere, but heh, I am not a mod.

Amen. As Orion said, it has nothing to with Gor, and the point seems primarily to be (1) he isn't getting laid and (2) broadcasting his dislike for mnottertail (ironically and pointlessly on a board where mnottertail is highly regarded).

It began as trolling and continues as attention seeking.

BenevolentM -> RE: Value of Poetry (2/6/2011 1:52:58 PM)

Musicmystery I think that Elizabeth Gilbert is cute. Are you trying to say that you saw the video and you don't like her? Someone like her could make a wonderful kajira (in my opinion). I used the word kajira didn't I?

BenevolentM -> RE: Value of Poetry (2/6/2011 2:07:20 PM)

They lost the debate. Now they strong armed it.

The most important sexual partner you will ever have is yourself. Time to make this a rewarding experience.

BenevolentM -> RE: Value of Poetry (2/6/2011 6:59:55 PM)

Since the commentary below was in reply to mnottertail I'm assuming that the commentary below was meant for him. I would like a clarification on this, however.

I thought that you might be ok. I was wrong about you. Initially, I thought it might be best not to divulge part 2 of my response to Ishtarr, but I've changed my mind. I'm going to put you under the same umbrella Musicmystery along with mnottertail, first and foremost mnottertail. Ishtarr wrote:

I believe that these statements are intended to advance not the truth, but the inversion of truth.

So has this poetry gotten you laid recently?  or "yet"?

Alas, no. Are you calling me a virgin? I'm not going to tell you if I'm a virgin or not. You're making me feel bashful. Sadly, it looks like I'm going to have to wait for my soulmate or soulmates to find me or Judgment Day whichever comes first. I've thought about becoming a priest, but they don't really want my kind. You know men who can't get it. So I have all of you instead.

Also in all honesty even though realistically I can see no hope I can't forsake women even though I have not found them to be especially nice. It does not appear to be my destiny to be loved, yet I shall be loved in abundance.

Yep this is exactly where I thought this thread should go.
