http://www.aolnews.com/2011/02/03/bangladeshi-girl-dies-after-public-flogging/

The U.S. may be far from perfect, but I am so glad I was born here.

I don't even have words for how backwards and wrong their thinking is.

God bless her... Tragic on all counts. I pray that her little soul is at peace after enduring such a horrible series of events and a horrific death.

Termyn8or -> RE: 14 Year-Old Girl in Bangladesh after Public Flogging (2/6/2011 12:48:37 AM)

Pam, when they don't have enough food to feed themselves and still fuck enough to have big families they can't support, what do you want from me ? They want our tax dollars to keep something going ? WHAT !

STOP FUCKING. We do it. I don't want to support kids so guess what I do ? I DON'T HAVE THEM period.

People living where there ain't no water, give me a fucking break. The musta had water after they fucked, or they would be thirsty. They had twelve fuckin kids who ain't thirsty enough to die. Why do they need us ?

I try to be nice but I got into a bad argument with a buddy named Harvey, because I told him "You have no right having kids because you can't afford them". I said this in his house, and the situation was not good. But I don't take it back, I am not backing down and that's that. When my Mother made $75 a week and paid these fucking Baptists one third of her pay for my sister and I to go there for a couple of hours after school on weekdays until she got off work, I learned about human nature.

And with the southern flag and two nooses I regret nothing. Fuck half the trash in this country, what the fuck do I care about other countries ? We need a big cleanup here, people think they're entitled to something. I was taught to make my own way. Nobody owes me shit in life.

If I starve, I die. Fukit.

T^T

Well, i stand behind Your right to express Your beliefs, whatever they may be. You go on and fly Your flag with the two nooses. You go on and say how this little girl deserved to die because she was unfortunate enough to be born into a third world country. That is Your right. And i will go on saying that that's an asinine thing to say, because that's MY right.

pam

P.S.- i like You anyway, You asshole.

rosanegra -> RE: 14 Year-Old Girl in Bangladesh after Public Flogging (2/6/2011 2:15:02 AM)

I think you missed the point, Term... the girl was raped. She was then punished for adultery because she was raped. She was killed as a result of that punishment. She didn't die of starvation, or thirst... Her father is outraqed, rather than believing her punishment was just, so that tells me he cared...

She was a child. An innocent child, whose innocence was stolen, and then insult was added to injury when they punished her, and tragedy topped it all off when she died.

As for the rest of the world, with the issues of overpopulation and starvation? That is the product of corrupt government, lack of education, and lack of birth control... my husband and I have been happily fucking for three years and no offspring. Fucking isn't the problem.. societies that don't condone birth control/don't educate about birth control are the problem. Sure, accidents happen, but a lot fewer would happen with more birth control.

Same goes for the good old US of A. It's even worse because here people have no excuse. It is readily available, inexpensive (if not free) and people are educated about it, or at least have the potential to be.

So... yeah.

Termyn8or -> RE: 14 Year-Old Girl in Bangladesh after Public Flogging (2/6/2011 4:29:01 AM)

"on and say how this little girl deserved to die because she was unfortunate enough to be born into a third world country"

Understand, I don't like it. I don't think it's right. But you know who the fuck's responsibility that is ? Her fucking spawners, NOT Parents who fucked and fucked and had kids they could not feed. I cannot stop them. Are they going to feed YOUR KIDS ? Are they going to feed mine ?

Fuck that, I fucking decided not to have kids because I didn't want the responsibility. If they can't do the same the law of nature says they get to watch their kids die. Who the fuck am I to interfere with MOTHER nature ?

And when I can't make it, I will die. It's not their problem, it's not your problem, it is my problem.

Mother Nature's laws are harsh, and I realize that this is about a hurtful regime, one that destroys it's people, at least in our perception. But really, they were born of nothing from those with nothing. What do we owe them ? I didn't get what I have given to me, and I doubt you did either. what happens if we can't get water or food.

Well strife. Strife breeds violence. Violence breeds death. Death makes room for more viable life. The people who would cane a Woman for adultery, so what ? The people who would cane a girl for getting raped, well they are assholes. So what ?

So what's the plan ? "They need a bombing so that's what they're going to get" ? as per a US govt official years ago. Or would you rather EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US empty our pockets and bank accounts for this poor dead girl? But then what about the next dead girl ? The one in your backyard, or mine ? The one in your family or mine ? The one in your community or mine ? The one in your country,,,,,or mine ??????

It's not that I don't care, it's that I CAN'T care. There is a limit. Take care of business at home first.

Mother Nature? Come on Term...this is not an article about a child dying in a hurricane or an earthquake.
This is an article about a child who died at the hands of others. Blaming Mother Nature for what was done to this baby is excusing the behavior of those that are responsible for her death.

At the risk of offending more than a few... and I have spoken out about this girl on the other thread... I can see T's point.

Recently a video surfaced of a young boy who was beaten on his way home from school by a large number of bullies. Thankfully, no permanent injuries... some of the kids were 17, the abused was 12 0r 14.

In the video, there was a young woman who walked by... yet no one stopped to help this boy. According to one account, a woman passing by in a car finally did.

Are we really any better if this is how we treat our own children in this country?

I certainly hope so Taz. Our judicial system would not sentence a rape victim to such brutality.

But i do see your point. Are we that different? No, not really. But that does not have to be a bad thing, does it? We do what we can do within our ability.

Could i have stopped that group from beating up a small child? Maybe not physically, but i sure as hell would have done SOMETHING. Could i have stopped the torture of a rape victim in a foreign country? No, i couldnt.

But does that mean i feel compassion for the little one in your example, and feel nothing for the girl in Bangladesh? No..as .i said before...compassion is not based on geography.

tazzygirl -> RE: 14 Year-Old Girl in Bangladesh after Public Flogging (2/6/2011 6:15:23 AM)

I dont think T feels "nothing" either. Its harder for some people to "feel" about things that they know they cannot change, cannot move to change, and have absolutely no control over.

Thankfully, we hope our courts are different... yet... we sentence 12 year olds to life in prison. That, in itself, is its own torment... trying a child as an adult, assuming they have the understanding of an adult.

The girl was abused by the assailant and relative... then by her realtives... then by the courts... then by her executioner. I still have trouble wrapping my mind around all that.

BBBTBW -> RE: 14 Year-Old Girl in Bangladesh after Public Flogging (2/6/2011 6:40:27 AM)

What a horrible horrible travesty. Anyone that thinks any different, well may you get whats coming to you.

I am sure the poor relative that was forced to get a hard on and have sex with the 14 years old temptress is all broken to pieces. (said with as much sarcasm as I could muster in written word)

Yes, Tazzy, we are that different. The example you give is comparing apples to oranges.

That girl was raped and SHE was found guilty and killed. When has any victim of rape ever been put on trial as the defendent in this country ? Let alone be sent to jail or given the death penalty for being raped ? When that happens in this country, the rapist is punished. In this country, and most others, the girl is the victim, not the criminal.

The boy in your video is going to go to court and testify against his abusers. If and when they put the victim < 13 y/o boy > in jail for this crime and let the 6 abusers walk free, then you can say we are no different.

Sadly, children are abused, bullied raped and all kinds of other horrible stuff in this contry and others. The difference is... it's citizens commiting the crimes, not the courts. Yes, sometimes the system fails and the perpetrator walks, but never is the victim sent to jail or given a death sentence.

The OP is about the justice system, not about abuse of children/humans. That, sadly, is a universal problem.

i am not trying to argue here, but there is more than one way to look at the "are we different" issue.

As far as our judicial system...God yes. Innocent children are not murdered by the court system. Victims are not executed.

But as far as our humanism...not different at all. That 12 yr old was probably no different than our own daughters. I bet she told silly jokes, giggled with her friends, hated homework, fantasized about her wedding, had hopes and dreams and goals. Just like our kids.
And probably her parents worked to provide for her, loved her, rolled their eyes at her antics...etc. Just like us.

With that in mind i am baffled that there can be compassion for a brutalized child if it occurs on American soil, and none for a brutalized child in another country.
