Hey Dude

I've said this before about other fantasies on here, including some that are far more challenging to understand--these fantasies are yours, and as such, they are absolutely NOT sad, pathetic or disgusting-- if we cannot allow ourselves to indulge in having whatever fantasies get us off, then that to me is truly sad and tragic. I do not believe your caging fantasy as rare as you imply--almost every dungeon I've visited on the two coasts has had either a cell or a cage in it. And obviously, it's not there as a coffee table....

In terms of the practical aspects of the fantasy--that's really a logistical issue between you and your Domme. Aside from certain physical needs--and messes resulting from such needs (no need to graphic here, yes?) caging for prolonged periods is certainly possible. (depending on one's definition of "prolonged") And of course, there's all sorts of various risks of being left alone caged....I'm sure you've heard plenty on that....and if not, I suspect many will chime in soon.

Enjoy the fantasies--indulge in the reality at dungeons and places where you can--and perhaps you'll find that special woman who will gladly cage you to fulfill both your desires on a regular basis. good luck Dude!

I think it's a question about being helpless: why wouldn't you cage the man and then load him with the cage into a truck to bring him to a party or another Mistress? Or why not invite friends over to watch and tease him? In other words, you can toy with the mans mind.

Back when I was playing as a sub too I was caged.

It starts out hot but that can never last forever no matter how high your libido is. Then comes the weird mentalspace where you realize you have no choice and finally the boredom when you have taken in every form of stimulation you can (visually and sensationally) and just have to wait. It's a punishment at that point. Cages have fun and delightful uses (short-term, punishment, play-time, sleeping for some) but long-term storage isn't fun for dom or sub. To get a sampling of the experience without the expense of buying the cage, put some food and some gear to handle excrement in a corner of your room. Then put tape on the floor to mark off that spot. Nothing but your limbs can leave that area. Make sure there is no radio or TV in the room that is on or with a remote that you can reach. Now stay there for 24 hours. I think this should make most subs realize they can enjoy the fantasy but the real thing would come to suck very quickly.

I think of caging in a similar way to how I think of bondage. I want to be tied up or caged for a little bit longer than I want to be. :)

That is, long enough that it stops being a complete turn-on and really takes on a form of punishment/control -- but not so long that it gets really dull or *too* oppressive. (If it were actually being used as a form of punishment by someone trying to train me, rather than just as a form of mutually enjoyable play, that might be different.)

One thing that I would note is that there is, for me, a big difference between caging and imprisonment. The latter doesn't interest me at all -- being locked in my room or a cell big enough to stand up and move around in (if only a bit). I tend to think of an animal cage.

Actually, the whole thing, for me, goes back to a cartoon I saw on a kink site somewhere. It was a girl with bunny ears and a cotton tail locked in large rabbit cage, saying "This is *not* what I meant when I said I wanted to be a bunny!" Since then I've had a "caged rabbit" fantasy -- wanting to spend a few hours at a party in a properly-sized cage, with water bottle and a dish of properly rabbity food. As with many of my fantasies, I think this one would work much better for everyone if I actually were the 5'2", 120-pound cute girl I wish I was...ah well. (Actually had a couple of offers in the past, from people who didn't realize I'm only a wannabe-girl.)

A bit more practically is the idea of being put in a crate for transportation as part of a puppy play scenario. Have to be a pretty big crate for me, though...and a domme might need a couple of other subs to lift it. :)

24/7 caging? No thanks....I can imagine spending a few days being released only briefly for sanitary purposes, but longer than that starts getting into Gitmo territory. :)

I never realized how many people loved being locked in a cage until I had a real one made for me in 2000. Since then, I have always owned one and have no shortage of interest from people whose desire was to be locked in it. The people who do like them tend to like being in them for a long time or sleeping in one all night. From what my subs have said, there is a certain reality that sinks in when you truly cannot get out, even if you wanted to.

I sometimes wonder if it would seem more popular overall if more Dommes owned real cages—I'm not talking about the flimsy puppy pens you buy at PetSmart. Usually it's only pros and hardcore players who have them. Maybe that's because good ones cost a pretty penny and they are hard to hide when family comes for Christmas lol.

I do notice trending in people's BDSM interests. Back in '96 I noticed a TON of interest in enemas. I don't see as much of that now. In other areas, like strap-ons, I have noticed a very steady interest—no ebb and flow there.

I don't view caging as either punishment or hot, but as security. I prefer small and cozy rooms to big ones.Wing chairs to curl up in and so on. So a just the right size cage would be a secure place for me in just the way it is for a crate trained dog.
