Well thank God that Bush was physically prudent.

We have a few comedians in the house today.

Nothing like 2 off budget wars costing trillions- and TARP, Bear Stearns- and so on.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I consider the goal-  the GOP is too corporate.

...they so wanted the GOP in here-  now that they are in-- they want to close the center- which would wipe out this valley.   Gee.  But we have money for Halliburton and Black water.   No money for mental retardation services.

Tough Budget Cuts

Balancing the budget will mean all four of these: adjusting Medicaid, Social Security, Defense spending, and tax increases.

Anyone of either party claiming differently is pushing an agenda, not balancing the budget.

Otherwise it's like being way over your head on your mortgage and car payments and deciding to solve it by switching from butter to margarine and cutting out the occasional pint of ice cream. Yeah, technically, "it will help" -- but it won't solve the problem.

Nor will "Gee....maybe my income will just grow so I can afford it!" ....which is the Republican "plan."

You are entitled to assume whatever you want, but that doesn't make it so. However, there is no assuming Obama is just fucking with "We the people..."...his proposed budget adds more spending more than it cuts.

no, actual on paper proposals in the form of a bill.. That is his fucking job isnt it? Or is going on faux news equal to actually proposing legislation. Boner and the pillsbury dough boy have had over a month to craft a proposal. yet, to today, not a fucking thing. I thought they had everything all done up in the latest contract on america. How about the tea bagger bozos......rand paul put anything forward yet? Michelle Bachman have a bill she is pushing forward? No all around. Just talk talk talk talk and more talk...

Does that budget include the 54 billion Obama wants to spend for high speed rail ? Someone wasn't paying attention last November.

Theyre putting the bill together right now, there are no magic wands.

When theyre done then you can scream about their heartless budget cuts, until then you will undoubtedly whine because you have nothing to scream about.

What it is going to take, since there  is no real evidence that anyone wants to cut entitlement programs, is

Raise taxes to the 99 percentile on ALL income for persons
Raise an export tax of 99 percentile on ALL exports
Raise and import tax of 99 percentile on ALL imports
Put all people out of work and give them more entitlements, then the government can take care of them.
Direct what they can own, how to spend the money that they have left, what they can eat, and how many kids they can have.
Disband the military and surrender our country to the first person that wants it
Disband OSHA because there will be no need for it since no one will be working
Import all professionals and take their money away at the 99 percent tax
Give what is left to foreign countries to bribe them into not attacking us
Make all politicians work for free and pay for their own junkets and trips home.

Essentially that is where I truely believe that we are headed.   oh, we will probably never get there, I am not totally unrealistic, but if we just give more and more entitlements, and raise taxes to pay for it, where does it stop?

That depends on your perspective.

From my view entitlements are not the problem, but I do like that misleading word.

If we pay into our government are we not entitled to government help and services?

If you want to reduce our debt then consider how much we pay for a bloated military.

LOLOLOLOL!!!!

So, the GOP is making all kinds of noise about cutting traditionally favorite democratic programs.
Obama proposes to cut traditionally favorite republican programs.

And both sides are doing political theater, business as usual, and having anal spasms.

At some not to distant future point, both will do a backroom cigars and whiskey meet, and both will loudly proclaim in public that they were ruthless and have cut the fat to the bone, without much being done.

And the fervent right and left will have anal apoplexy all over again. No moderates are ever going to be able to do actual work on this.
