Well then, where do you stand on nominating someone for president based on skin color rather than qualifications?  [:D]

This is disgusting people… counting black people in a crowd in order to determine which group of screeching white people is the more worthy? The relevant word in the phrase “black people,” is “people.” Black people don’t exist so that white people can ego stroke themselves by screaming: “Look! Look! We’ve got more black people than you! We’re better than you!”

I could be wrong but I suspect that the reason you find few black people in these crowds is because they got fed up with being treated like a fashion accessory to other people’s self image (“I’m standing next to you, that means I’m a good person!”) and headed off to the nearest bar for a few drinks instead. I can’t say I blame them.

ETA: This is in response to everybody, not just moonhead who just happened to be at the top of the page.

Corner time for you young man.

Marc2b -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/22/2011 7:23:40 AM)

I think that to nominate, or vote, or not vote for someone solely because of there skin color is both bigoted and asinine. Yes, I know that there were some people who voted for President Obama simply because he is black just as some people voted against him simply because he is black. Both groups of people are bigots.

Skin color (and gender or sexual orientation as well), ultimately, should be a total irrelevancy in making such decisions. Black, white, yellow, whatever… it is (literally) a surface detail. Yes, Yes, I know that someone’s “race” may give you some idea about their background and therefore their worldview and thoughts but some is the key word. Each and every one of us is an individual (it’s the package we come in) and race is just one of great many factors that go into forming who and what we are as individuals.

If you (by which I mean everyone – including myself – and not Sanity specifically) look at a black person and think: they must be liberal; or if you look at an Asian and think: they must be smart; or it you look at a white person and think: they must be racist… you are wrong. I want to be clear: you may not be wrong in that specific instance about that specific individual… they may well be liberal, smart, racist, etc… what you are wrong about is that they MUST be such things. The same applies if you think that anyone who voted for President Obama did so only because he is black, or anyone who voted against him must be racist. It is all nonsense.

The one exception to all of this is, of course, the purple people. Everyone knows that Purps are stupid, are smelly and carry disease (due to their slovenly hygiene habits), and sneak into people’s houses at night looking for kittens to stomp. I will NEVER EVER vote for one of those bastards!

Marc2b -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/22/2011 7:30:18 AM)

Interesting pic there, lucy... I can stare at a nice ass AND take a test to see if I am color bind at the same time.

At least that is all I will admit to.

....worked for all the presidential races before the last one......or are you arguing that there's never been a black person, of any party, qualified to be president?

Touche.

Sanity -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/22/2011 11:48:34 AM)

I didnt say anything of the sort, nor write anything of the sore either.

Since you have this much trouble understanding the written word you had ought to hire someone to sort it all out for you.

Well, normally I let typos slide, especially since I make a lot of them myself.

But I would think someone chastising another poster for having "trouble understanding the written word" would take a little more care not to appear foolish.
