I think that to nominate, or vote, or not vote for someone solely because of there skin color is both bigoted and asinine. Yes, I know that there were some people who voted for President Obama simply because he is black just as some people voted against him simply because he is black. Both groups of people are bigots. Skin color (and gender or sexual orientation as well), ultimately, should be a total irrelevancy in making such decisions. Black, white, yellow, whatever… it is (literally) a surface detail. Yes, Yes, I know that someone’s “race” may give you some idea about their background and therefore their worldview and thoughts but some is the key word. Each and every one of us is an individual (it’s the package we come in) and race is just one of great many factors that go into forming who and what we are as individuals. If you (by which I mean everyone – including myself – and not Sanity specifically) look at a black person and think: they must be liberal; or if you look at an Asian and think: they must be smart; or it you look at a white person and think: they must be racist… you are wrong. I want to be clear: you may not be wrong in that specific instance about that specific individual… they may well be liberal, smart, racist, etc… what you are wrong about is that they MUST be such things. The same applies if you think that anyone who voted for President Obama did so only because he is black, or anyone who voted against him must be racist. It is all nonsense. The one exception to all of this is, of course, the purple people. Everyone knows that Purps are stupid, are smelly and carry disease (due to their slovenly hygiene habits), and sneak into people’s houses at night looking for kittens to stomp. I will NEVER EVER vote for one of those bastards!
