A question from Keith O about the teachers demonstrating in Wis:

“Let me ask all of you who attend these things. How many black faces do you see at these events? How many Hispanics, Asians, gays? Where are these people?”

* * *

“If you believe there is merit to your political argument, fine. But ask yourself, when you next go to a [Wisconsin Union protest against taxpayers], or watch one on television or listen to a politician or a commentator praise these things or merely treat them as if it was just a coincidence that they are virtually segregated. Ask yourself: Where are the black faces? Who am I marching with? What are we afraid of? And if it really is only a [governor's] policy and not his [political party], ask yourself one final question: Why are you surrounded by the largest crowd you will ever again see in your life that consists of nothing but people who look exactly like you? Good night and good luck.”

Why are the public sector unions in Wisconsin so racist????

Keith did not say that. What he said was in reference to the tea party events not what is going on in Wisconsin.'

And what do you know? This video shows the protestors include many minorities.

White persons, percent, 2009 (a) 89.4% 79.6%
Black persons, percent, 2009 (a) 6.2% 12.9%

Amazing how those figures just seem to pop off the web pages.

There you go again Tazzy, using facts just isnt fair.

tazzygirl -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 5:15:05 AM)

Now i gotta play fair?

Gesh!

joether -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 5:15:55 AM)

Just watching the video I notice something rather curious. The video shows a bunch of people, passionately protesting something....and looking like it would be alot of fun to be with them! They got the drums, the bagpipes, and people are looking relaxed and orderly. There are many minorities in that crowd. The music selection is upbeat and postive. Looks like a very vibrant crowd of Americans!

With so many of the conservative video's, it is rather the opposite. People look depressed, angery, rageful, and not really caring how they behave. Being disorderly seems a common feature, all screaming racists, ignorant and/or unintelligent words and concepts. Generally, a crowd to avoid like the Black Plague!

But yes, truckingslave, if your so sure of your 'arguement', please post the source of the information. Otherwise, I will have to assume you made it all up, and your arguement is just as empty.

You mean Truckin' was trying to mislead us?

Say it ain't so.

Moonhead -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 6:00:35 AM)

So all white teabagger protests are proof of the poor, oppressed WASPs having taken all they can stand from the DemocratsGovernment and not sinister or racist at all, whereas slightly less vanilla union protests are proof of the Left's institutionalised racism, then.

I've rarely seen a double standard stated quite so blatantly, even in here.

Actually he was parroting a meme presently spreading on the far right blogs. You didn't think he came up with this by himself did you?

Or ask yourself: Why isn't Wisconsin hiring black teachers?

Sanity -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 6:37:56 AM)

Why couldnt you locate those facts when everyone in the media was trying to portray Tea Party protesters as racists

DarkSteven -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 6:39:38 AM)

Racism involves excluding others.  If they voluntarily do not show up, that's something else.

Sanity -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 6:39:50 AM)

There are minority Tea Party protesters too, but that doesnt slow the race bating libtards down any

Or why you can't find major news stories when you want to claim no one covered them.

Now that's settled. Meanwhile, back at the point......

Well, if the teabaggers hadn't waited until there was a black guy in the white house before they started doing all these protests, none of the racebaiting libtards would be able to take that line, would they?

Sanity -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 9:44:13 AM)

Oh I know, anyone who breathes a word in opposition to the president of the United States has to be a racist now. But what can you do...

Well, they have to change the story every now and then: five years ago anybody who breathed a word against America hated your freedom.

Sanity -> RE: Racism in Wisconsin (2/20/2011 9:51:08 AM)

Five years ago opposing the president was supposed to be the highest form of patriotism
