No one twisted anything. You stated only malnutrition. I quoted a Pediatrician at a well known Hospital saying it can be fatal.

Its called knowledge. Something you need to gain before spouting off at the mouth, something YOU excel at.


Water intoxication can be fatal. If you give your kid too much LIQUID of any kind, you can kill him. Adding extra water to the formula will not cause this unless you turn around and give him too much. Now as I mentioned before, it will cut back on the nutrition he gets. What I failed to do was say how awful malnutrition is, but seeing as we are all adults, I assumed most people could figure that part out on their own. I guess I overestimated the intelligence on this board.

A baby's tummy can hold only so much liquid. Cutting down in nutrients like sodium, potassium, protein and vitamins will indeed have fatal results.

Or didnt they teach you that in biology. How many experts are you going to argue with in order to not have to admit you were wrong?

It looks like diluting formula or giving babies water if they are breast milk fed is a REALLY bad idea from the above.

Status: offline 		And what we are talking about is water intoxication as a result of watering down infant formula over an extended period of time, which is what happens when mothers try to stretch out their formula allotment each month.

When you figure that out, let us know. Im always encouraged when you have a light bulb moment.

As i explained to Helen in cmail... you dont have to be a parent to think like one. You dont have to have children to know what is better for one. Some just has to care enough to find out the information before rambling about things someone has no clue about, or doesnt care enough about to discover all potential risks.

Someone who doesnt have kids can know a world of information about them.

Many who have kids dont know squat.

And then we have those who are so wrapped up inside themselves they dont bother to look beyond their own noses.

You already know this even though you refuse to acknowledge it... unless you have a comprehension deficeit.

Tazzy is right. Their stomachs only hold so much.

(To go back to an earlier post of mine)
Infant formula contains electrolytes.
You are forgetting about osmosis.
If there is more water than there is supposed to be then it will change chemistry; those salts will leave the cells to achieve balance.

The electrolytes fall.

Your compulsive need to be right is nearly baffling and rather sad.

You have the folks who insist that every child be born, because they are pro-life, it's murder, etc. That life begins with conception. Okay, I can buy that.

What I can't buy is this:  Life doesn't END with the birth.  You want all them babies being born?  You better be willing to feed, educate, clothe, protect and nourish not only them, but the mom also.
