Status: offline 		No, not the light - I came across a term recently that was new to me. Ultra Violence. Master and I have been busy away at it and never knew!

It's a form of sadism, but without 'emotion' - if that makes any sense. Or basically hardcore hair pulling, face slapping - usually unstructured scenes (so not like flogging or whips) and usually more 'hands on' (YMMV). I hadn't seen it mentioned on CM before so I thought I would run it by people and see if they had heard of it in their groups or munches, and if you participated in it or was in any groups of it? Not sure if it's more a UK term than USA and whether people liked or disliked the term.

I kinda like the term - it's straight forward and descriptive and doesn't have the 'consensual' feel that sadism rings in my ears.

If I'm understanding your description I've done it but never heard the term applied that way (I've heard “ultraviolent films” and “ultraviolent sports” and such, though). If it's more on that side of the pond it would explain my ignorance, probably. I've never run across it in groups, it's mostly just been an impromtu shift in the dynamic between me and a playmate – somewhere during an encounter the chemistry subtly shifted and it quit being a sensual interplay and started being more knock-down-drag-out animal violence. Incredibly fun and liberating, with the right person. Especially so if the infliction is mutual.

I suspect its one of those distinctions people make without real lines – liie so much elese it exists in a continuum that is delineated unnecessarily and arbitrarily, but I suppose if you're trying to have a conversation mutually agreed arbitrary delineations can be valuable..

The best part is when you're laying there afterwards and the emotion kicks back in.
The juxtaposition between the animalistic behavior and then the caring afterwards is yummy.

I always just called it primal urges

I'm missing some vital point....sadism without emotion?  I'm not sure that M could have NO emotion at all, despite all the vile, evil things he does to me.

I have to say that no matter how hands on or hands off.....why the U.V term?

We've never HAD *terms* for what happens between us but, admittedly, we aren't chasing them, either, or looking at them in regards to *us*.

Status: offline 		UV? never heard of it in that context. Love it though. Seems to be the way I play with one person when she is around. Only limit is no breakages and no permanent marks on the face.

i've heard it. This is where the term came from as far as i know.  The movie and book is known here. i don't know why it isn't used much in the US, if it isn't.  Perhaps it has to do with differences in commercial club scenes, laws and political pressures on said clubs and general outlooks of the participants?

Hi agirl

I don't think it means that the people are without emotion (from what I gather) but rather that the sadism isn't there because of... connection? Frick... I don't know if that makes any sense... heh...

It's good to have terms like this IMO when your either single or poly and trying to meet someone with a similar taste... or want to join a group which relates to your kink. It's an identifier if nothing else... BDSM is just a label after all, isn't it? I kinda liked it... says far more to me than the word 'sadism'.YMMV.

Okay... this topic grabbed my attention and after doing a little Google Google... results being spat back me included references to "A Clockwork Orange"... Go figure. Anyhoo...

Anyways, I've never heard of this term applied in the context of BDSM, however what you wrote seriously has me reflecting upon one relationship in my part. One that I've mentioned a number of times where we'd mutually play fight to the point of actually hurting one another...but out of fun. A sort of mutual fluid type of S&M play to it. Yet, by no means was your typical controlled planned out scene. (LOL)

If this is the best label for spur of the moment, rough housing screwing around having fun...to the point it leaves marks and minor/moderate injuries in various degrees... I guess this is the label we should go with. LOL

So does this mean this kind of fun filled crazy violence is kind of like Ultra light Cigarettes as opposed to the Harsh full flavor kind.. hehehehe

Status: offline 		It's been quite a while, but I do think someone mentioned the term before on a thread at some point.  It's not one that I use Myself because I don't really like the implied context of violence, rather than sadism.  Just My personal hang up that I'm absolutely not suggesting that other people adopt just because of My thoughts on the matter.  It is kind of cool sounding for those that might like it.

What I also like about it, is that I get a 'non pigeon hole' feel, being a s-type that has a sadistic slant, people tend to look at you a bit disbelievingly - after all everyone knows that all s-types are masochists...
