Give them another 60 - 70 years and who knows, maybe they will try it, if they havent all starved to death by then.

Wouldn't it be nice if North Koreans got it together to kick out their tinpot dictator. I wishhhhhhhh......*sighs*

If something is going to happen in that region, China might be a likelier candidate. I read somewhere there were 80,000 incidences of "civil unrest" (read: riots) in China last year. With increasing educational levels and affluence, something has got to give in China sooner or later.

Here's hoping ...........

Possibly the most unlikely outcome of this, if it happens, is that for once, everyone on these boards would agree about something for a change! Wouldn't that be revolutionary!!!!

One thing I want to say, to no one in particular is....... Libya is in North Africa damn it!!!

The people in Libya look just like me!!!

Those are my peoples, and it's North Africa, North Africa, damn it.

Why do they consider Libya and Egypt part of the Middle East?

Hlen, the only folks who cannot find common ground, on something, with damn near anybody, are the ones who are that way because they choose to be.

If you don't get anything from sticking needles in the body parts they sling around, there is always the hide button.

Someone (Pahunk?) posted a link not too long ago to some photos taken in North Korea. Just briefly captioned snapshots really, but views that are very rarely seen.

It's just very hard to imagine a popular uprising succeeding in a country so dominated by the military.

To vote for him "again" I would have had to vote for him already. Never happened, never will. I was initially second guessing my "anyone but Hillary" position in my "rooting", but now that Blowboy is singlehandedly destroying the Dem party I can deal with another year of him.

Detroit is not in the Middle East, you silly wabbit.

Repukes ain't got anyone that can touch him, and the Repukes are going to really get their asses kicked for trying to break up unions.

How many teachers do you think will vote for a Repuke these days?

Wilbur, the Dem 2012 strategy is going to be polarization of the country, and demonization of those who disagree, and they are going to take it to levels we have never seen before.

Your bullshit aids that.

Thanks, Tazzy! That one is a bit sterner than I'd have been looking for. It was the timing more than anything.

Yes, he did.

And because of that deal...

today Gadaffi doesn't have chemical weopons to use on his people.

And you are criticizing it because?

I didn't think I was going to get an answer to that....

Care to tell everyone why Bush was wrong to go after those responsible for 9/11 then ?

Tell it to Neda, RML. Revolutions tend to be worst for the people who get to live under what comes after.

That's an absolutely amazing statement considering how I have been listening to conservatives tell me for years how we liberated and spread freedom in Iraq.

Your statement is the amazing one, rml.  Its your "absolutist" thinking again.

Did you not notice the "tends' in his comment?

And are you claiming that the average Iraqi is worse off now, than under Saddam?

Firm

What about you, Firmhand? What's your measure of 'better off'? My understanding is that you're a 'classical liberal with a twist (religion not Treasure)'. JSM would be turning in his grave.

The simple answer to your simpleminded cant is there is nothing Bush did that caused Ghaddiffi to foreswear chemical weapons 'because of that deal'.

Intelligent folks grow weary of responding to your cowardly and pathetic non sequiturs constantly.

and they have.   but this is your shuck and jive from being caught out.  first off, the only reason that there was any dealings with ghaddaffi by the US is because he foreswore obtaining of nuke capability beforehand.

Your statement was along the lines of.... liberals pretending to hate ghaddffi (now)...which is typical of your rhetorical effluence of innuendo as if they somehow had at some point been on a side of the fence that the conservatives never were.
