ORIGINAL: Termyn8or "I don't know that much about kosher certification," Really all it means is that it is approved by a Rabbi. Dude, i know that, just like "organic certification" means that it was approved by the organic board, or whatever. My question is what criteria do they use to certify it? Because i think they do more than just say a prayer, there are some real, measurable standards that it has to meet. i'm asking what the standards are, if anyone knows. And, specifically, are they more or less rigorous than the standards for "organic"? In other words certin things are indications that one thing may be better than the other, but it's almost never conclusive. thus the problem. You just can't trust anyone. i get the part about not trusting the labeling. And, frankly, even if things were labeled accurately, i doubt if doctors even know what's good or bad for people. pam
