bailout to GM and Chrysler saved more than 1.4 million jobs in 2009 and 2010 Even without analysis one may conclude this is BS. Taking out one company from the market does not eliminate jobs (unless there is no demand at all). This is not how markets work. If 1.4 million was lost, they have no useful purpose. Really? And your analysis is based on what exactly? What is your credentials? Hold a Ph.D. in Economics? International Business? Since GM's effect can be felt on both a nation and international scale. I would assume a carefully prepared, and well thoughtout 'analysis' would explain this....indepth. Yours fails to even hint at that, let along explain. So, if GM closed down, according to your 'analysis', those jobs at GM, would NOT be lost. And those jobs further down the pipeline (dealerships, mechanics, service stores, etc) would likewise not lost (according to your 'Masterful' analysis). Because you stated it is B.S., it must be B.S. Because you would NEVER be bias on the issue, thanks to your 'analysis'. And what is your analysis? Fluff. There are no numbers, there are no sources to back up your arguement. There is NOTHING. Your understanding of markets is that of a 2nd grader playing Monopoly. Sheesh. Fellow's use of the word "market" pretty much explains his stance. Basically, if there is a demand for 40 million cars a year and GM is healthy, GM will provide a portion of them. If GM goes bankrupt and closes down, the demand will still be there, so other car companies will make them instead. If you assume that each company needs the same man hours to produce a car, then GM's failure will have no effect on employment levels. Same with the suppliers that feed those car companies. If you want to shoot holes in his argument, you may want to postulate that foreign companies might pick up the slack left by GM, effectively shipping jobs overseas. But I get so confused when you have foreign companies producing cars in America and American companies producing cars overseas...
