The word preserve is related to the word preservation; hence, your comment is silly.


I understand that the etymology of the word and where your intended meaning wa to preserve "keep from harm". Another current meaning of the word is to maintain - keep the same.

Which is the point I was making. Apparently, you have been having the same relationship issue. If what you have and how you think is unhealthy and making you unhappy- why would you want to preserve it? The fact that you can't adapt, re-evaluate your thought process and apply some Critical Thinking to your actions - ....oh never mind.
