Live the Sheen Dream, a quote generator for any tongue-tied moments you might have today.  It's already come in handy for me! =)

SorceressJ -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 5:08:10 AM)

Douchebag is an overrated and overused term. How about the albatross (i.e. noisy, flapping shit machine) his father and brother now have to be burdened with?
I like the Estevez/Sheen clan, and I even liked Charlie himself, once. It's obvious the guy is not just your run-of-the-mill alcoholic, but fully sick in the head; that he has popped his cork and left it in the middle of the floor on Aisle Five, and since we're all human, maybe such judgements should be beneath me. It's just pitiful though; this guy had it all, or at least, an illusion of having it all: great acting family, pretty wi(ves), cute kids, job doing what he loves and having it well-received and fruitful for him - and now, more or less, he's done for, permanently. I can't imagine that Hollywood would forgive this level of raving, self-indulgent bullshit.
I don't know if sobriety is even a possibility for this guy, or if achieving it would save him because of all the damage he's already done. It's really sad.

Whyever not?
One of the few things the American entertainment media likes even more than excoriating a burn out is patronising somebody who's cleaned their act up. Robert Downey jr and Ozzy Osbourne still have careers, don't they?

DarkSteven -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 5:59:40 AM)

Sorceress, you're speculating that he'll recover. Right now, nobody will ink a new contract with him. Paying someone millions when you're not sure he'll even show.up to work....

Hollywood is full of people who are pains to work with. But they show up to work.

Jaybeee -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 6:13:34 AM)

Just saw footage of him on Pier's show, it's shocking how far booze ages you. His face looks like it fell apart at 47 and it's now 10 years later.

I'm a few years younger than he is but I'm already curtailing. Thankfully I never did any of that other stuff implied in his first name...

he will not have sobriety until he gets a handle on his narcissism and admits he has a problem. It is nearly impossible to judge someones behavior from what is portrayed in the media, but from what i've seen/heard, he has a rough road ahead of him.

And now he lost his sons? Whoa....

sofldan -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 7:29:10 AM)

It a implosion of epic and I mean EPIC proportions. But I agree with DS what we love here more than a train wreck is seeing someone rise from the ashes and do the mea culpa tour and become a favorite again.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 9:24:41 AM)

maybe that has something to do with the village mill near the bridge he lives under. =p

SorceressJ -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 3:48:35 PM)

*agrees with holly, Steven and moonhead. Especially moonhead in this case - if Charlie totally shocks everyone, manages to get a grip somehow, and rises from these here ashes, that would be completely made of -WIN-, with awesome sauce, and chocolate, and roles as good as Iron Man. As long as he breathes, hope remains.*

Steponme73 -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 4:33:23 PM)

Charlie Sheen was bragging about dropping 7 gram rocks of cocaine...is that something to brag about?

Dr. Doom is much better than Iron Man.

He's as nutty as a loon. He felt proud of that little stunt because he can say he has "tiger blood" whatever the hell that is. The guy's brain  has been fried from all the booze and drugs.

Good Idea.. [sm=agree.gif]
..but right now, he's just another loud-mouthed [sm=AttentionWhore.gif]
..and if he doesn't get that grip real soon-like, he's going to do this: [sm=anger.gif]

Except the albatross isn't a very noisy bird.

I admit to being conflicted on the Charlie Issue; on the one hand it's always sad to see someone coming slowly unglued in public.

On the other, it's bloody funny, and somewhat entertaining.

TheHeretic -> RE: Charlie Sheen (3/2/2011 7:42:49 PM)

I don't think I've especially liked anything with Charlie Sheen in it since "Platoon." I admit, I started listening to the radio interview that got this trainwreck started, and couldn't turn it off. Now I've reached bored. Die, go to rehab, or take it to the level of OJ in the Bronco, Charlie boy.

He's right about one thing though. Sobriety is boring too.
