You will get two main responses...

Check the 'search' feature.

And, what's the difference?... it's up to the people involved really.

stellauk -> RE: Difference Between Submissive & Slave?. (3/2/2011 11:31:08 AM)

Slaves generally have more signs of wear and tear, less teeth and a few more scars.

Arpig -> RE: Difference Between Submissive & Slave?. (3/2/2011 11:46:56 AM)

A slave is a submissive who identifies as a slave; a submissive is a slave who identifies as a submissive. Six of one/half-a-dozen of the other.

A submissive usually has self-respect.

A slave usually has naked photos.

NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE EXCEPT A SUB HAS SOME SAY IN THE DEPTH OF HER SUBMISSION WHILE A SLAVE HAS GIVING UP ALL OF HER RIGHTS, JUST THE VIEWS OF THIS OL; MASTER...BOUNTY

NihilusZero -> RE: Difference Between Submissive & Slave?. (3/2/2011 1:17:26 PM)

Degree and expanse of submission.

If you're new, you'll find that the differentiations are controversial and everyone inevitably applies whatever definition they want anyhow. Consequently, the question has become a catalyst for comedy (which isn't itself bad, but can be confusing for the person asking).

Submissive has 10 letters, slave has 5 letters.

People tend to be solipsistic thinkers. Sometimes it's funny to see how a percentage of the people that respond with humor are only doing so because it's an internet rite of passage for them to be at a level of experience that they can chuckle at the Level 1 Noob questions.

Not every silly response is an example of this, surely, but it's much more fun a game to find out who the Level 2 Noobs with delusions of grandeur are than actually engaging in the jokes about a question that we hear ad infinitum (I was tempted to say ad nauseam, but it's become a cliche offering from some of the very same Level 2 types. Except they usually spell it incorrectly).

NZ you are tip-toeing on the sacred line of TMI for the 7th house of the 7th level of the 7th newb.

Yes.  Isn't it a shame that some folks ignored the OP's question completely?

OP, along with the answers that you did receive, I'll add one more.  A submissive is someone in a D/s dynamic.  A slave is someone in a M/s dynamic.

Rule #7 of the 7th house of the 7th level of the 7th newb:

Never misspell sumthin in a post which is referencing the misspelling of another.[;)]

kiwisub12 -> RE: Difference Between Submissive & Slave?. (3/2/2011 1:58:03 PM)

Submissives typically have some say in what goes on in their relationship, slaves have given up that right    -  and there will always be exceptions to that statement, in that, every one has a different relationship.

and there are a lot of people on cm that would take exception to the phrase "the scene" - because they don't feel that what they are living is a scene - its just life. Word to the internet wise. [sm=argue.gif]
