Good for a laugh: http://www.cnbc.com/id/41827173?__source=otbrn|outbrainext|&par=otbrn&__source=otbrn|outbrainext|&par=otbrn

Evidently Gadhafi was incensed at them arresting his son and daughter-in-law for beating two servants, so he proposed annexing Switzerland.

Ah, lifestyles of the rich and wacky.

Edited because hlen5 pointed out that I had the wrong beating victims!

While we are at it, can we abolish Lichtenstein? I have no use for a country that sounds like an aborted sneeze.

Is that the miniature country the Libertarians are big on because they've outsourced their prison system and can't be arsed with a standing army?

Yeah, and Luxemburg, I bet those pricks had a hand in inventing that ***hideous*** "Euro-Techno Music!"
They probably have those European "Holidays" that no-one's heard of too, "We're celebrating St. Rudolph's Day, that's when we wash our neighbor's cars and houses, steal their shoelaces and everyone eats ruddabager pies!"

Beats me... you'll have to go ask the libertarians. But if your country is only seven square feet large and has a population of four... what do ya need prisons and an army for anyway?

I dunno... put enough vodka in me and add a couple of scatily clad euro-babes and I can jam to techno music. My experience with British toilet paper, however, did make me want to get on my knees and thank God that my ancestors got out of there while the getting was good.

I'd like to abolish France too but every time I try to serve them the papers they run away and hide under a desk.

May I point out that Napoleon was French, and did a bang up job taking over most of Europe until he got greedy and went after Russia.

Some say the French Gift of the Statue of Liberty was a French attempt at a Trojan horse, but it didn't work, because they forgot to get in it.

A Chicago thing originally: try googling "Strings Of Life". Still, we can't expect you to have any more of a clue about techno than you do about anything else, can we?

Napoleon was Corsican. That aside… relax, I’m just joking. I had a grand uncle who was a fighter pilot during WWII and was shot down and spent about four months with the French Underground. He told many stories of French bravery. He was absolutely disgusted with the anti-French sentiments after 9-11. But whether they like it or not the French have in modern times gotten a reputation for cowardliness… quite a fall from the days when defeating a French army was an accomplishment worthy of proclaiming a holiday (Cinco de Mayo). I figure if I have to put up with unwarranted European stereotypes of Americans (i.e. we are all fat, gun toting, uneducated, rednecks) then I’m entitled to poke back with our own stereotypes about them (the cheese eating surrender monkeys), despite the fact that I like brie.

Incidentally, rumors that I have cousins in France are just that… rumors.

Wouldn't they be half-siblings?? I love the term "cheese eating surrender monkeys"!! Didn't that first come from The Simpsons?
