You know, they're on their last legs.   They set the stage for the Teabaggers, and when that caught on, they decided to play with fire.  Or the better analogy is that it blew up in their face, and now they can't control the fire.

Like most operations, their adversaries didn't do them in, they did it to themselves.

As I see it, their only hope is to terrify Americans, and to do that, there is little doubt in my mind that they will sabotage every attempt to do anything constructive.

There should be a special place in hell for them.

I agree.  Things like signing statements are for your own fans, and should be unnecessary.   GW was not what anybody could call a strong president, and Obama should not be imitating him.

you could have left it there.

You can forget about fiscal conservatism.  Ever since Reagan, the Republicans have been the spend and hide party - with blatant and continuing lies about their fiscal strategy and results.   And some idiots actually believe them.

We are in the scary position of Democrats being the fiscal conservatives.  Jerry Brown actually wants to balance a budget, and all the republicans are screaming that their redevelopment buddies are getting it in the shorts.  Go, Jerry!  Tax a Republican for jesus!

prosecutorial discretion is hardly unique to the USA.  This is only a more overt brand at a particularly polarized time.

I always thought of it as borrow and spend.

A lopsided system is bad for the country.   There should be checks and balances.  I don't like watching the Republicans torch themselves, because it means the Democrats will run wild and inevitably abuse their position.

But the unholy alliance of the religious right and Wall Street is unbalanced.   Shit like is going down in Wisconsin will bite the GOP in the ass, big time.

Yes, that's better - but a lot of their military spending has been hidden, too.
