:"When you have a low tide, there's less water, so the pressure on the seafloor is smaller."

That is untrue. The decrease in pressure is caused by the change in effective gravity, the water just moves to equalize, or accomodate that presssure. Therefore the net effect is the same.

Lower elevations with less water on top are an exception, but that is very rare, because when the land is lower you get more water. It literally gushes in. (ask the Dutch)

They're using flawed science to support a belief, but that's not uncommon.

I also love the last sentence.  Basically covering their collective butts....sort of like weather forecasters.   It could happen, or it might not, we will know for sure on March 20th, lol    Gimme some good old scientific positive statements :)

Yes, I noticed that their 'source' was an astrologer, not an astronomer. Sorry, but horoscope skills do not qualify you as a reliable source on physics. Though it did provide a good reminder to take the cultch that yahoo thinks is newsworthy with a grain of salt.
