~fr~ In my journal, under the heading ‘note to self’ are the words "To say "I have loved and lost", is to never have loved at all." They express an idea I, whole heartedly, believe; once an individual has an understanding of what love is, that understanding doesn’t go away. So, in that sense, I agree; love is everlasting. However, love is something you do, so it does not make sense to say “I am in love”, never mind falling out of love, and there are no degrees of love. I don’t think I would describe it as a rock, either. It’s more like the tides, helping us to move forward with change; constant, but not stationary. Kim
