Then if Mr. Obama actually did say it, why not show the DIRECT quote? In fact, if he said something like this, it would often be tied to a live feed. Where is the youtube video showing the President actually saying those words?

Because that would be putting words in to the President's mouth, of which, he never stated. The New York Times, did not state Mr. Obama stated these words directly, but "...and offical..." did. Who is the offical, Heretic?

Well, you see, Joe, there are these people called reporters. They go talk to other people who have direct knowledge of what the President says and does when there isn't a camera in his face.

The President also has people around him who can be called official spokesholes. The reporters then go to them for confirmation of what has been told to them, and give the spokesholes the opportunity to deny it ever happened, or to try and make it sound not so bad.

That all gets written into a story that will fit into the space or time allowed for the report. Have you ever heard of a website called Wikipedia? They probably have something remedial enough for you on the subject.

The White House isn't denying the President ever said any such thing. Why are you apparently trying to?
