Status: offline 		In a discussion about service & training, I mentioned that I thought it would be great if there was a BDSM school, specifically for subs- so, I did some research, (I love google!) and fuond the following:

Have folks heard about this servant's retreat? Has anyone here ever attended?

I'd be interested in going, but would like some feedback. Thanks!

I have been to this one.....a town i used to live in. The people here are just outstanding! i can not speak highly enough of them. This is also a bed and breakfast type place...they have MUCH to offer. If anyone is in this area...i suggest a visit. If you just want to drop in...they are very open to that also.

Status: offline 		Been there done that!!! Lady Catherine is totally awesome. Her servants retreat is the best that I have ever attended. She gives of herself like no other I have ever met. The women is so giving and thoughtful of those around her. Do not confuse that with lack of backbone. She is not one to try to decieve she will see through that in a heartbeat and dig deep to find out what you are hiding in yourself so that you may serve better. I will have the honor once again to be helping with a reception in her honor at BR2004. Anyone who will be attending the event should look at the public group part of the attendees area and sign up for it. If you ever doubted or are not sure what submissives are really like, attend this. You will find very gracious people who can stand on their own, proud of their status either collared or not. Some of that is due to Lady C and her assistance in helping us be the best servants that we can be and the encouragement to continue our growth.

I know people who have done workshops. Never known anyone to go to one of these schools though.
If I had any knowledge and I was also brand new. I know the two statements don't exactly fit together. However, having knowledge I know the "schools" would not be beneficial in the least.
If I had zero knowledge then yes I would probably attend. If I wanted a taste of the lifestyle that bad. I don't happen to know in retrospect if I would end up regretting it in the end.

Reason for my feelings is. I would be a submissive searching for my Dominant. My Dominant, not any Dominant. My Dominant is going to want me to serve him a certain way. Everyone is an individual. Nobody's training is for the world at large. So, more than likely chances are whatever training I may have received while at the camp or school or whatever would be null and void when I did meet my Dominant.

This is also providing the school was on the up and up. Many of them out there tell you that when you come to them. You are nothing but a servant to serve who and what they want you to do when you want to. Also there is no escape once you enter the grounds.
So, I think I would option for the seminar approach if at all possible. You take what you want and you leave what you don't want. You need to find your own style. Then a match who happens to mesh with your own style.

My two cents worth anyway.

Actually, I've not only heard of Shadowfind, but have friends who've gone there. I've heard wonderful things about Shadowfind too, but for some reason I was under the impression it was primarily for couples- glad to know single folks are welcome too!

Status: offline 		While not a school, pre se, most local groups do have educational demos as part of their socials.

You can learn all sorts of amazing stuff, not to mention networking with like minded folks... in real life, even!

Butchmans is a part of our local group here in Arizona...and yes! Master Steve is fabulous. If anyone ever has a chance to hear Him speak or watch Him at a demo...i Highly suggest it.

Status: offline 		Yes, I just found a group in my geographical area that appears to be very active. I can't wait to go to one of ther Munches. There are actually several from 1 -3 hour distances. I am going to check them all out to see which one I feel I fit with.
