I would have to put Bachmann ramblings about how the founding fathers ended slavery on the top.

The Guam bit was at least funny and entertaining.

This overly narrow hiring spec then leads to absurd, widespread complaint that companies can’t find people with the right skills. That’s bunk..."

It seems the employment process is twisted.  Of course, stupidity can not legislated away. I would give some credit to the congressman for pointing out the problem. Are you sure he is the dumbest. Most congressmen just occupy the seat and raise hand occasionally. Nobody can be sure what their mental state is.

Well yes, it can be legislated away.

One of the points your article makes is about age discrimination, but there are very clear rules now in hiring and firing and numerous lawsuits that have been won by employees.

Or simply votes "present".

Uh.............he's not in Congress anymore.

But I do know how much you like to hijack every thread into a rant against Obama.

Sure? No. Hence the open contest. Check the second link in the first post though, Fellow. He's certainly the most likely candidate for the title that I've come across.

mnottertail -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 7:05:37 AM)

Georgia's world class thinkers are easily countable, according to what I've seen.

At some point, when you throw these guys in the stupid bucket, does it make sense to see if any cream rises to the top, since you are dealing with so little in the first place?

Say that Guam did tip over, (he has a very convincing argument....LOL) has there been a congressional investigation on what it would do to the ocean levels?

Sanity -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 7:07:34 AM)

Certain... people hijack every thread to rail against somebody, youve got that part right.

mnottertail -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 7:10:28 AM)

Well, we have to take note that Obama did indeed vote present, while W was unable to while in military service for one reason or another.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 9:08:32 AM)

[:D].....I can't help it,The two preceding posters are funny....of course only one of them is deliberately so.[:D]

Sanity -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 11:09:47 AM)

Your lie about W notwithstanding, Obama "was unable to while in military service for one reason or another"  for absolute certain.

So do you have a point?

Ever?

Great question.  Do you?

Lucylastic -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 11:38:20 AM)

DId Obama ever pretend to have any military service?

mnottertail -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 11:39:17 AM)

Nope, but W did, which as Sanity points out, is a lie. AWOL is not service.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 11:42:31 AM)

theres no use in bringing up Obama then is there...

Btw Guam comment was stoopid
but Ive heard uglier and dumber coming from buchanan, gingrich and tancredo, let alone the "three sisters of perpetual misery" and the bunch that ran in november:)

mnottertail -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 11:46:48 AM)

Well, had this thread been about Kenya or the Presidency, Obama surely would have been brought up, but I don't see how it applies to Guam and Georgian congressmen.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 12:17:48 PM)

Given that the Guam incident was quite a while ago..Im not sure the "dumb" idea about protecting them(unemplyed etc) tho is a candidate, unless its dumb cos it will never ever passs.
Certainly not amusing to anyone who has lost their job/livelihood  in the past three years.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 8:17:11 PM)

The Guam thing was about a year ago, Lucy, maybe a little less.

If you have dumber from Gingrich, or anybody else, by all means, bring it on. I think we would need someone concerned that submarines surfacing through the ice at the North Pole might hit Santa's workshop, or perhaps a politician as stupid as the TV reporter who thought all the ice in Iceland would preclude volcanic activity, but I'm happy to give all comers a fair review.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 8:35:00 PM)

Or as recently stated Bachmann's founding fathers and slavery quote is pretty tough to beat.....especially coming from an elected official......

"the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States….Men like John Quincy Adams, who would not rest until slavery was extinguished in the country…"
Do you suppose someone has taken the time to explain to her that John Quincy was a son of and not actually one of the Founding Fathers?

tazzygirl -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 8:36:33 PM)

"Did the Pathfinder mission succeed in taking pictures of the American flag planted by astronaut Neil Armstrong in 1969?"

In 1997, during a subcommittee briefing, Jackson Lee asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that Neil Armstrong had left on the planet.[17] After it was noted that the flag was in fact placed on the moon, not on Mars, her chief of staff issued a letter ascribing her confusion to racism, quoting Jackson Lee as stating, "You thought you could have fun with a black woman member of the Science Committee."[18]

Pretty funny stuff.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 8:39:04 PM)

It is my understanding the pictures were a little fuzzy....

tazzygirl -> RE: The Dumbest Person in Congress Has An Idea! (3/21/2011 8:41:01 PM)

Fuzzy enough to mistake the moon for mars?
