Are you implying that Armstrong didn't go to Mars?

In 1997, during a subcommittee briefing, Jackson Lee asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that Neil Armstrong had left on the planet.[17] After it was noted that the flag was in fact placed on the moon, not on Mars, her chief of staff issued a letter ascribing her confusion to racism, quoting Jackson Lee as stating, "You thought you could have fun with a black woman member of the Science Committee."[18]

And Sheila is still there, Tazzy! Ding ding ding!!!

Sorry though. I can't see Bachmann competing at this level.

The problem was recently discussed by a popular economist: http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/03/the-stigmatization-of-the-unemployed.html
"..But I’ve seen the bias become far more ingrained over time, reinforced and rationalized by the bizarre way that companies now spec jobs. Whereas in the stone ages they’d hire a competent-seeming individual with some relevant experience, they now look for people who have done exactly the same job at a similar company. This overly narrow hiring spec then leads to absurd, widespread complaint that companies can’t find people with the right skills. That’s bunk..."

It seems the employment process is twisted.  Of course, stupidity can not legislated away. I would give some credit to the congressman for pointing out the problem. Are you sure he is the dumbest. Most congressmen just occupy the seat and raise hand occasionally. Nobody can be sure what their mental state is.

...or better yet...goes on another vacation like Bush. Electing Bush gov. of Texas proves stupidity reigns. Electing and re-electing him pres, proves this country insane. The bill of rights unlabeled has been submitted in trial to the HOR and it wouldn't have passed during any repub majority since the repubs got their first repeat majority in 79 years back in the 90's. That kinda tells me all I need to know about the ignorance of our elected leaders. [sic]
