ORIGINAL: Corcoran I've noticed that the Dominants who I felt deeply attracted to had very strong pick-up artist (PUA) skills - psychological tricks, tactics, lines. Is there a similar or shared skill-set for PUAs and Dominants, or is there a fundamental difference? What would it be? Pickup has evolved. These days there's a significant focus on the internals. Building the kind of strong character which is inherently attractive almost as a side-effect. I'd say that those who study pickup are inherently more aware of social games and how to play them. However dominance is a trait of character, not a mask someone can wear. If a PUA is still stuck on using routines, canned material and so on, then I doubt there's a correlation there with dominance. If he's building a lifestyle based on goal-setting, self-discipline and self-belief, then I'd say dominance correlates with that. Having said that, PUA advice will start the process of deprogramming the social beliefs that a guy's had inculcated into him - often by the women in his life. Generally speaking, guys who grow up with positive, strong male role models don't have this problem. Those who grow up without this tend to have an idealised view of the world, relationships and women which can only be corrected by other men.
