He cant mention it because someone he knows was involved because its wrong and against the law War fucks people over, monsters come out of the ashes There are as many reasons as there are excuses. It should not be glorified, for the perpetrators and the victims, we are a long long way from that

What do you expect Lucy,this is popeye .Surely you didn't expect some sort of reasoned post made by an evolved human being who just might happen to know the difference between conducting oneself in an honorable fashion or rather, under the cover of a war zone, indulging the worst of man's basest instincts.

I find those veterans who refuse to talk about the details, who refuse to glorify or mythologise war far more credible and far more heroic. Picasso's 'Guernica'* is infinitely more instructive and eloquent than popeye's nostalgia. Picasso's genius reveals the true horror of war, a universal truth if ever there was one. The things that you have just described often happen to the victim of rape. That is one of the reasons it is so hard to overcome. Another question for you: You have 50,000 young men signed up for war. Should they NOT feel pride in their job? Their job is killing after all. How do you want them to feel about their job and actions? How do you reconcile the idea of "you need to hate yourself for what you do, yet you need to do your best"?

Regards the incident in question, there is no pride in murdering innocent civillians, which is what happened here. It isnt what your troops have been trained to do either.
