You claimed we discussed it and no such thing happened, it was a lie on your part pure and simple.

You showed where you had mentioned it in the same thread as I was posting in, nothing more than that and certainly nothing that backed your underhanded assertion.

No, I mentioned a post of mine where I had used the word mandate, and you had quoted the very post, even if you you did skip a bit of it. Dont make me post the whole thing and make you look silly.

So quoting a post where I had mentioned the mandate means I hadnt mentioned the mandate....Interesting take on things.

Ad hominem attacks. Check that off the list.

Do whatever pleases you. I couldnt care less.

If Mike supports the war in Libya (he seems to be squirming for a pretext until Obama reads from a teleprompter tomorrow) and you support the war in Libya, then you share common goals.

Neo cons want war in general and Obama loyalists are just following like hypocritical little sheep.

Those who are capable of recognizing bad policy don't cling to idealogy. Anyone supporting Obama's new war is basically blind to history, an idealogue, or an idiot. Unless (of course) you run an oil company, make cruise missiles, or actually want a new Taliban installed in Libya.

Iso, do you feel it would have been okay to let Ghadaffi "show no mercy" ( His words ) to a city of 250,000 people then ? I certainly dont. You also havent got a clue as to what goals Mike and I share, more so since I dont even know Mikes goals.

Mentioning the mandate wasnt what you claimed, youre trying to move the goal post, you are persisting in yet another falshood.

Polite, you and Conservative Mike are conservative warhawks. I'm surprised you two haven't layed hands on Dad's old Enfield rifle and packed your seabags ready to ship out yet off to a foreign land ready to fight for a people who would come to hate you!
"Onward! Onward Abraham Lincoln Brigade!"

Silly me then. If I post and mention the mandate, and you reply to that very same post. I then assume you noticed I was talking about the mandate. Seems to me any time anyone makes a point, you swerve the issue then feign indignation.

Lets make this clear for you right now though. The UN mandate authorises any necessary force to be used to protect civillians.

Pops, whats really sad is you take protecting civillians from genocide so lightly.

Feign indignation? Youre not worthy of indignation, I am merely pointing out your lies.

And *BY GOD* if some faceless beaurocrat in the "U.N." told Politesub53 to go down to the pub and drop his draws down to his ankles and shake his ARSE at the Sunday Women's Methodist Group having their weekly meeting in the back then he'd DO IT!!!
(Make sure you give them a good nut-flapping too!)

I think its morally reprehensible for Obama to spend any tax payer money policing the world unless the USA is facing an imminent threat.

A UN Mandate does not legally allow the President to ignore his Constitutional responsibilities.

Obama is attempting to intervene on behalf of armed Muslim Rebels in Libya, I don't buy the city of 250,000 people pretext.

There is no actual or imminent threat to the US in Libya.

I would rather have seen US intervention in the Congo first.

Here's a quote from Obama when he was a Junior Senator:

"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

As Commander-in-Chief, the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent. History has shown us time and again, however, that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the Legislative branch. It is always preferable to have the informed consent of Congress prior to any military action."

Nefarious goals require villainy not stupidity. I'm not particularly interested in your goals, no worries there.

My how time changes some things. Heres a post from 2008:

We've already done what we set out to do. Remove Sadam and help them establish a government and army. They have both. Our work is done.

You could argue they had a government and an army beforehand. All that has happened is the power has been passed from Sunni to Shia.

Now, who do you suppose the new master in Libya will be? Ive yet to hear anyone say who will take responsibility for the outcome there.

Bear in mind as well, Saddam was responsible for far more atrocities than Gaddafi, few will deny that Saddam Hussein was a true monster.

I have not suggested anything of the sort, I will grant that he is a wholly unsavory character.

So than tell us again what your issue is ? Invading(under false pretenses) Iraq = good due to the liberation of all of those muslims.
Participating in prosecuting a NFZ= bad...though it might result in the liberation of all those muslims.
Now the above is an oversimplification of your position.....but I am trying to work on your level.
Please explain the problem you have...other than it being President Obama at the helm.
