As a German Jew comedian slave dog, I will give my 2 cents worth.
Yes, it was horrible what the Nazis did. And what Stalin did. And what Mussolini, and Charles Manson (CM, by the way) and Dahmer, and many others did. Yet somehow, they are fascinating to a HUGE number of people.
Secondly, why is the Nazi fetish controversial, yet wanting to use a pear of anguish, thumbscrews, nipple clamps, floggers, branding, hot wax, etc okay? How many people were tortured and killed during the inquisition? Heck, go to a black guy on the street and tell him you think slavery should be legalized!
Most of our "lifestyle" is based around things which were used to abuse, exploit, torture, kill and maim people originally. Nazism just happens to be a socially and politically delicate topic.
That having been said, I don't think I would enjoy the Nazi thing, not because I can't make light of the situation (anyone wants to hear some funny jokes, PM me.... lol) but because it is not a fetish of mine.
