Weird, I was just chattering about this from a completely different perspective not five minutes ago. It might be a little off/on topic, but I was told to post another view that might be worth sharing, so I shall. I've never thought about it from the religion perspective. It's an interesting concept, but for me on a logical basis it doesn't ring true. It's also why I don't use it either, I'm an english geek, go figure. I've always looked at, and discussed, this exact same topic from an english language point of view. In the english language, capital letters outside of the beginning of sentences denote things of importance to what we are writing - names, monuments, countries, etc. etc. At the risk of sounding condescending (I'm not trying to, just trying to illustrate as clearly as possible what I mean) here's an example - ~Graham is my owner, I am completely his. Now in the context of online kink, that would commonly be typed - ~Graham is my Owner, i am completely His. The problem I have with this is the shift of importance. Most of the time it's not even thought about, but sentence composition like that to me at least sends the subconcious message of relinquishing total importance to a dominant. For a TPE, I can see how this one works, depending on the TPE. But outside of that, especially around dominants that aren't a sub/slave's actual owner...I'm of the firm belief that oneself is always of importance, and a dominant should know that as well. So to me, personally. No I don't think I subconciously do, because I don't use it. I can't speak for others, but I was told to bring up another possible perspective behind the capital letters. Sorry it's long-winded!
