While I respect the choices of others, for myself personally, the "vampire" style is absolutely Not My Thing.  I am not a seductress or vamp.  That's just not me.  I would experience those tactics as being more submissive than dominant, and I am not comfortable with that.  Your mileage may vary; this is my own experience and feeling.  I feel that the seductress is packaging herself for the visual enjoyment of the male consumer.  I see that as an essentially passive role, the role of the object or the product and not the viewer or the consumer.

Savage primal werewolf all the way, all the time.  I expect my boys to be the beautiful objects of my desire, to tempt and seduce me, to please my eye and win my favor if they can.  It is very much not my role to do this for them.  I expect it would play hell with our dynamic if I did.

As always, YMMV, my way is not the One True Way, it's just what works for me and mine.

See, I knew you'd say that. ;-)

Actually, I think I said 'ultra-kittenish'. 'Ultra-minx' would work just as well. It was all in your face. Heh. I take super-high-res mental photos of facial expressions during 'those moments' and don't ever forget them.

But I reckon you'll go werewolf-ish when you're older (sorry if that sounds patronising). I very much doubt you'll go vampire, though.

For what it's worth: I do think there are signs in you that some old stereotypes are, finally, beginning to die out amongst, er, the 'youthful ones of today'. (That is very much a compliment, in case you weren't sure. ;-))

Can't imagine how you came to that conclusion.  *finishes chewing on a raw deer heart and licks the blood from her paws*  Oops, it's a full moon, I don't think I'd better be typing here for much longer.  [:D]

Oh, good.  We're back to the actual topic now.

You know Peon, at first I wasn't going to answer this because you're clearly looking at female dominants and male subs and I expected there would be strong gender differences. Then LP basically said exactly what I was going to say... I'm both. Although the vampire aspect doesn't come out much with Carol. That is the really dangerous face of me and it's reserved for people other than her. When I get "cold" is also when I'm really angry and then BadThings(tm) happen. I suspect it helps Carol to see me as a dominant to know that that side is present but it wouldn't do anything positive for our marriage to drag it out -- for starters I'd have to be really angry with her and that just can't end well.

The werewolf aspect is what I think of as "primal". I refer to that whole side of me collectively as "the beast". This is mostly what Carol sees when she's not seeing a teddy bear.

I'm of a firm opinion that there really isn't a lot of differences in gender on this one.  It's one of those areas that the actual Dominance overrides biology.  Taking that which is your own is very common on this side of the kneel.  The animal is definitely in there.

At the same time, I don't think it's driven by lust alone.  Power over another is definitely part of it.  I'm not even sure that it is all based on what might be called instinctive.  Mixed in with the other elements that certainly are primal includes My rights as an owner.  That makes it a bit more complex, but it actually heightens the experience for Me.  Taking what is Mine because I know it's Mine makes it sweeter.

Yes, we are definitely different in this aspect.  I'm going on the folklore for this one.  While vampires do (supposedly) have the physical strength and such to overpower their prey, that isn't always the preferred method.  It's a mental aspect about bending the will.  It's not about physically forcing someone to do as I wish.  It's about My will being his will.  It's about Me wanting him to do, think, and act exactly the way that I want him.  I don't want to control just the body.  I also want to control the mind.

Anyone, with the right tools, can overpower someone physically.  To overpower them mentally, without having to lift a finger, is a far greater thing.

See, I don't know about this. I'm not playful because I'm young, I'm playful because I'm playful (circular logic yay!) - I know plenty of proper adults who are still playful and fun-driven. I can't see myself suddenly developing some kind of kink-related bloodlust from nowhere - and it would be from nowhere, because right now it's just not in me.

We'll see, I guess.

Whoever said that werewolves couldn't be playful and fun-driven? You know, dogs . . . they do sometimes like to run around and nip ankles? I bet wolves do too. Especially wolf-cubs . . . .

Pfft. Right, I think at this point I'll take Sylvere's comments about vampires on board and ditch the idea. In fact, I'll ditch the 'werewolves' idea as well, since it doesn't have its opposite anymore and its useless without it. Bloody Jungian-archetype stuff always did lead to headaches all round, anyway. It all too often comes with unhelpful baggage.

Instead, I'll go with 'Ms Cool' and 'Ms Hot'. Ms Cool, inthe shape of 'The Divine Bitch' - as strangedesire dubbed 'her' - does have an aspect about her that is cold and lifeless. Or at best, two-dimensional. Even more so when we're talking of the standard submale fantasies about 'her' rather than femdoms' own feelings about 'her'. There's 'fun' to be had in that, no doubt - but I don't think your sort of fun. I don't see you as a 'Marlene Dietrich'. You could be, if you wanted to be, but I don't think you ever would. To me you're a variation of Ms Hot.

I've had a sense that if a femdom accepts herself and expresses herself as such from a young age, then it's less likely to turn into something 'darker' later on. D/s *should* be fun, and people *should* be looking at these boards and thinking of some people, 'Eh? Why are people so heavy about all this? It's just good fun!" That's the impression I have of you, and one reason why I'm optimistic about the future of D/s. A good example to me, anyway, because it's helped with the equivalent in the sub in me.

For my part, my femdom fantasy world is populated with both Ms Cools and Ms Hots, and mixtures of the two. It wasn't always like that, though. Ms Hot, as a fantasy, came along a fair bit later - late teens, I think. Again, I agree with strangedesire on this - there's a bit of anti-feminism involved. That is, I grew up half-consciously believing that females were delicate creatures who'd never do anything mucky and filthy like have sex. It was pretty easy to flip that into a fantasised image of a femdom who enjoyed her sense of power and control as an aloof and disdainful woman who I'd 'serve' like some low beast. It took me a frigging long time to realise that women might actually enjoy sex, and so much so that they could be assertive, even aggressive, about it. I ain't unimaginative and I ain't stupid, so something else was at play there.

Bollocks, I was trying to help bring this thread back to the point. But that *was* funny. [:D]
