ORIGINAL: urineme Do WE, As americans, go mosque-burning when we see or hear of violence against their local christian populations, bible-burnings, or burnings of american flags? NOPE! Do we even do that when films of beheadings of american hostages are shown? Nope! Thei ignorant, unstable mass that fundie-muslims are will ALWAYS be provoked by something, so let's just let this go, and deal with REAL problems. William Actually, starting immediately (within minutes) of the attacks on 9/11, people perceived as Muslims have been attacked, chased, and some murdered. A large percentage of the victims weren't even Muslims at all, but Sikhs: members of a religion from India (not the Middle East) which has the same values as America's Founding Fathers (such as ideals of equality of all people, freedom of religion, fighting -literally- against injustice and oppression, etc.). They were historically subject to intense persecution, up to and including attempted genocide by the fanatics among the Muslim invaders of India, so it is particularly sad and offensive to mix them up with extremist Muslims. The confusion happens mainly because Sikh men are required to wear turbans and beards, and many ignorant people assume that only Muslims have that style, for some reason. This is as silly as assuming that every man with a shaved face wearing a baseball cap is Christian. In fact, in America, we're much more likely to see Muslims wearing baseball caps and clean-shaven than wearing turbans and beards. The wave of sometimes-deadly assaults on Sikhs in the US is documented in the film "Divided We Fall", http://www.dwf-film.com/ There's also relevant information on the website of the civil rights group Sikh Coalition
