And I will inform you slve....

That twenty-one States have open primary elections or non partisan blanket primaries, where there are run off elections between the top two candidates, regardless of their political party. South Carolina, where popeye lives is one of the States with an open primary.. A number of other states are currently debating open primaries or non partisan primaries as well.

So I think I'll take popeye at his word when he says he'll be casting his vote for Mrs. Clinton if/when she runs in 2012

I've always thought it was unfair to leave an independant out of a primary.  Just because they refuse to associate themself with a huge established party doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to set up the race (or vote to set up the race) with the best candidate they see fit for the job.  Instead of making them, a large part of the voters, with the left overs of the primary elections.

Hillary will be 70 years old in 2016. She will not get the nomination in 2012 and will be to old in 2016..

Ahh,but what if the intention of the voter is to cast a vote for the candidate that he believes will be the weaker standard bearer in the general ? What would there be to stop some enterprising young Democratic operative to push for a Palin victory in the primary, thereby insuring, beyond a shadow of a doubt ,a Democratic landslide in the general?

Someone please inform pops that in most primaries...one needs to be a member of the party prior to voting. As he is this boards most famous independent...I don't see him casting a primary vote anytime soon.

Typical, liberal double talk.

OH and BTW slave... 21 out of 50 is almost half. There is an excellent chance that by 2012 that number will be 23 or 24 out of 50 and perhaps half or more by 2016.

She will be 69 on October 26, 2016. And she will still be younger than Reagan when he was elected.

Yes,I can not fault your math....but 29 out of fifty is MORE than half...hence most.
It is a tenuous point....but as it is simply basic math I am prepared to accept your apology anytime now [:)]
By the way please explain how a mathematical simplicity like this can qualify as "Typical, liberal double talk"
Do you really see a big victory to be had here ?

Fatty,I merely laid out a hypothetical....nothing about wishes in there. Now if you want to talk about wet dreams.....yeah,a Palin ticket would be a Democratic wet dream.....she would sink the whole fucking ticket [:)]

Your hypothetical is noted, but too, what about the hypothetical situation of a slave or submissive....(or even a wife....or...anyone) voting to please their partner?  That too can skew the voting platform, IMO.

Sarah Palin already did sink her entire ticket back in 2008.She can easily do it again in 2012!!

Hey Pops,  you seem to have missed this.  It was on the same page

Q- President of the United States?
You know, I had a wonderful experience running and I am very proud of the support I had and very grateful for the opportunity, but I'm going to be, you know, moving on.

Q- I asked my viewers and followers on Twitter to send questions and a lot of them said, "Ask her if she'll run in 2016 for the presidency." A lot of folks would like to you to do that.

Well that's very kind, but I am doing what I want to do right now and I have no intention or any idea even of running again. I'm going to do the best I can at this job for the next two years.

or simply look at powell, he could have easily crushed bush if we looked at superficial popularity polls, so what difference does this superficial popularity poll make?

why are neocons shitting their diapers in fear over this?

They're not. They're hoping she runs and somehow beats Obama in the primary or damages him enough that one of their losers can win the general. It's their only hope of winning in 2012.

Putting her in the VP slot would be a winner.

Ken, primary challenges happen when people within the ruling party think their guy is a loser, or has betrayed them. The damage is already done. I can easily see a symbolic challenge from the anti-war left.

President Obama's best shot would be if the conservatives were split too, so did you have some point? I think the Repubs best shot at winning is if the President does a lousy job.
