I don't think Trump's that bad but I'm hardly a Tea party person except for being a fiscal conservative. I like cutting spending but I would start with the defense budget not family planning.

Fox News Poll Reveals That Obama Would Trounce Donald Trump

A majority of Republicans are dreading the 2012 campaign (51%), and those over age 55 (56%), and those Republicans over age 65 (57%) are dreading it most of all. The looming presence of the Obama Democrats can be seen in the fact 52% of non-whites, and 53% of moderates said that they were looking forward to the 2012 campaign. The Tea Party was the only Republican supporting group who had more respondents looking forward to 2012 than dreading it (49%-42%).

Simply put, Donald Trump can’t beat Obama. He would not only lose, but he would lose badly. I think the right’s infatuation with Donald Trump is a sign of their complete desperation. Supporters of the Republican Party are frantically looking everywhere for candidate who can mount a serious challenge to President Obama. Trump’s standing in the polls can be attributed this desperation and Fox News’ support of him. Donald Trump would be humiliated by Obama in the general election, but what does it say about the strength of the potential 2012 GOP field when two of its top four candidates are a reality TV star, and a washed up quitter of a former governor who has managed to turn herself into the most hated politician in America?

The reason a majority of Republicans are dreading the 2012 campaign is that they can see the writing on the wall. Unless they find a miracle candidate, they are probably going to lose, and lose badly to Obama.

Shhhhh!

Do you know how many hearts you are breaking right now?

Republicans tend to be very delicate, especially the teabaggers and the birthers.

You have to be gentle with them.

It all remains to be seen

Uhh......the topic isn't about a generic Republican candidate, it's about a match up between Trump and Obama.

Don't bother to thank me.  I just have this generous, charitable nature and I feel an obligation to help you stay on-topic.

The point is, things are dynamic, very fluid... nothing is predetermined. I do know that Obama has pissed away a lot of his base though, the true antiwar believers and the gays, those who believed his various lies about bringing the deficit under control or closing Gitmo etc.

And I also know that many of the things that Donald Trump is saying resonate with a lot of people. Not everything, but he is a unique character, a Washington outsider with a real shot at upsetting the status quo, which thats how Obama originally presented himself.

The point is the polls show Obama far in front of Trump as well as Palin.

So who is this mysterious candidate who is going to emerge based on your generic poll?

And why is that? Is it because,.....he's doing such a great job?
Oh yeah, 25,000 less people were on unemployment last week. Did they get good-paying jobs or get dropped after their 99 weeks or whatever it is on unemployment?

Sanity -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 12:03:07 PM)

Yeah popeye, everyone agrees that Obama is doing a GREAT job! [;)] [:D]

You remeber that movie that had a bunch of pseudo-super hero's giving tryouts for other would-be super heroes? And candidate after candidate fails to even draw their attention (because their ability is just lame). Then, this one guy marchs up with a cape drawn in a mysterious and direct manner? The judges sit up in their seats, look as if to say "this guy could be taken serious...". And what does that guy do next?

Its that whole tryout segment of the movie, that is my impression of the GOP ticket.

Sure mike, everyone... [:D]

"Tough choices" my ass. Whatever slim chance this gutless bastard had of getting my vote in 2012 just exploded in flames, and I swear to god there is absolutely zero chance I will vote for him again. He is completely ignoring every single one of the bold and insightful recommendations of the bipartisan budget commission he personally appointed last year, because he doesn't have the balls to do the right thing if he thinks it will piss people off.

I'm finally ashamed to admit I voted for this empty suit.

ThatDarnPanda was on your side, last time I checked...

slvemike4u -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 1:36:44 PM)

While Panda seems disaffected with President Obama,and I happen to respect his thoughts on the subject,I feel strongly that ,between now and Nov 12,he just might find himself again voting for Obama.Afterall to listen to you and sailor boy his choices are going to be mighty slim....hell you two are trumpeting a Trump candidacy.Though I have no right to speak for Panda......I wouldn't feel too far out of line in suggesting he won't be voting for Trump [8|]

Lucylastic -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 1:50:00 PM)

WTF??
Panda has always had doubts about Obama since before the election, and hasnt kept his dislike of his policies quiet  since.

slvemike4u -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 1:52:38 PM)

Besides the point Lucy...were sanity and sailor boys dreams to be realized....Panda's realistic choice would be between an Obama ticket or a Trump ticket.I have no doubts where Panda would fall....none at all[:)]

Lucylastic -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 2:07:31 PM)

Ok got it Mike,
TDP has always been unhappy with Obama, since before the election in 2008 so its hardly something new
And he will always have my respect. Even when I disagree with him

Love it

http://articles.cnn.com/1999-11-09/politics/trump.rich_1_donald-trump-trump-said-trump-trump-said-the?_s=PM%3AALLPOLITICS
NEW YORK CNN Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has a plan to pay off the national debt, grant a middle class a tax cut, and keep Social Security afloat tax rich people like himself.Trump, a prospective candidate for the Reform Party presidential nomination, is proposing a onetime net worth tax on individuals and trusts worth 10 million or more.By Trumps calculations, his proposed 14.25 percent levy on such net worth would raise 5.7 trillion and wipe out the debt in one full swoop.

The last time he had a good idea??? SNORT

outhere69 -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 2:45:51 PM)

I think his math's off.  Where does he get the number of people, and what's the median of the folks > $10 million?

I'm coming up with about $21 trillion based on 15,000 earning more than $10 million - not just a net worth of $10 million.  And that's a conservative estimate.

Lucylastic -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 2:48:44 PM)

dunno hon, but I do know it was in 1999 so the figures are probably way off.
I think this was when he decided that opening casinos was the only way he would stop going bankrupt

Sorry if I sounded short or disagreeable there Lucy...didn't mean to....but this medium does tend to allow for such misunderstandings.
And yes.Panda has my respect too....and when push comes to shove....when the tickets are chosen I will be curious as to which way he is leaning.

Lucylastic -> RE: Video - Donald Trump Interview (4/10/2011 3:03:07 PM)

My mistake Mike,I had to read the post before yours to get the context so I apologise to you if I came off as if I was miffed at you, I wasnt.
The  Hide button  is good until , well you know, you unhide them. But I learned.
