What a swell, down to earth, average working joe he pretends to be... Not very convincingly though, the elite jet setting, limousine liberal snob that he is comes through like a neon sign whether he likes it or not. Can he imagine what its like to put an entire paycheck into buying gas, or filling a heating fuel tank I wonder? Does the accompanying inflation were experiencing with these higher fuel prices force him to sacrifice certain necessities? Hell no. Its kind of obvious that he doesnt care about those who are having to sacrifice, young families, elderly people on fixed incomes (etc) either. What a pompous ass! The point is, fuel prices are skyrocketing, people are seriously hurting because of it... many around the globe are literally going hungry because were devoting farmland to growing fuel, though we could simply pump more oil. Odd, he can remember that but he can't seem to "remember" promising to get all of our Troops out of Iraq by December of this year or getting us out of "Nafta!" And didn't he say in one of his state of the union speeches no less that illegal aliens wouldn't get healthcare in the U.S. as "Aunt Zetuni" was collecting welfare, medical benefits, housing, and other benefits in Massachusetts? And (some) people were "surprised" when that congressman yelled out, "you lie?" This guy is a fucking phoney. Gee, I wonder if he can remember any of his classmates in the sixth grade?

~FR Gas prices always rise in the spring. Its a result of the chemical changes at the refineries switching off of the winter use of butane.

If you honestly believe the U.S. could increase drilling enough to affect gas prices at the pump by more than a few cents over the next decade, you have no clue how big the oil market is, and how small U.S. production is. Gas prices are rising because of skyrocketing demand from China and a perceived threat to global supply lines in the middle east, neither of which the U.S. can do a whole lot about. Food prices are skyrocketing because much of the world, most notably Siberia, had bizarre weather this year, leaving a pretty big crop shortage. Again, hard to blame Obama for global weather patterns, though I'm sure conservatives will find a way. And if you want to talk about screwing the elderly on fixed incomes, how about Rep. Ryan's plan to have the median wage-earning senior spend more than half their pre-tax income on health insurance? That seems like it'd be a bit more devastating to seniors on fixed income, and that plan doesn't have global forces outside of the United States' control to blame.

he is assuming Obama meant he worked for a gas station, pumping gas. I see no reason why anyone would make that assumption.
