Shutdown has been averted by stop gap resolution.

Not sure if "averted" is the right word.  "Postponed" might be better.  Now the Congressfolks have one week to come up with something to last the entire year, while also bragging to their constituencies that they won, and blaming the other side to the entire populace.  This week is not going to be pretty.

Mike, didn't Reid agree to separate Senate votes on the riders? Votes that will certainly be looked at, as 23 of his 51 seats will be up for re-election.

They may very well have given away Obamacare tonight.

Yes, I'm sure protecting access to cancer screenings and maintaining breathable air will be very unpopular in states that sent Democrats to the Senate in the first place.

So at least one other see's it the way I do....well I can go to sleep now See y'all in the a.m. pleasant dreams folks are gov't is still open.

Not if the spin you are regurgitating is allowed to carry the level of discourse, Fmf, but people may be pretty sick of that.

Only to a conservative is assuming that an organization follows a law preventing tax dollars from funding abortion "spin."  And only to a conservative is funding an organization that spends 97% of its money on non-abortion services "spin" when you claim that funding will help real people.  Not to mention, only to a conservative is defending the role of the EPA "spin."

The "cuts" were still a drop in the bucket. We have a long long way to go. Planned parenthood should be self sufficient. NPR the same... I would totally defund foreign aid, especially aid given to our enemies. So much more nonsense to cut, including Dear Leader and his ilk in 2012.

LOL.

It is irresponsibly premature to accuse the conservatives (republicans, neo-cons, rinos, and nutsuckers) of fiscal responsibility now or at some future time; simultaneously, it is irresponsibly inaccurate to accuse them of fiscal responsibility in the past.

Well isn't that special, Fmf. You even have charts to regurgitate. Did you find that on Democrat Demagoguery.com?

Government funding of Planned Parenthood is a great big symbolic target. If you don't like it, cut your whining, and cut them a check instead.

Question. The right is claiming a "victory" and a resurgance in the political power of Boehner (sp). It was reported he gained 63% of the 61 Billion in tax cuts they were seeking, roughly 39 billion.

Yet the Democrats were agreeable to 30 billion in cuts already. Bachman and co are landblasting Boehner (sp) over the lack of the 100 billion they promised their tea party constituents.

Actually, that brings up two questions.

Which are the true bone heads who would make that type of promise?

Where is the "victory" if no one is happy?

There is no victory, the smugness of the repubs is misplaced, altho that wont stop them, the dems welllll still have to find their balls and the teaparty is living in cloud cuckoo land.
None of them will have to live with the cuts, maybe thats the victory .....maybe, but not for the people who will suffer, as usual

There is no threat to abortion rights here, Lucy. The organization will be completely free to keep doing what they do.

You could always send them a cheque, if you are all that concerned.

He would be a much better president if he would  fight for spending cuts instead of against them, as he has said that he would in the past. He says he will do one thing then does the exact opposite of that, which exemplifies very poor leadership.

Its time for a change in 12, give someone else a chance.

what a shame you are ignoring the shift

What erosion is that, Lucy? No worries. The right of asshole men to hand their girlfriends a few hundred bucks and tell her to get rid of it will still be intact.

That doesn't change without a ruling from the Supreme Court, or an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The rest is symbolic window-dressing for one side, and a very nice fund-raising opportunity for the other.

your dear leader o'dumbo and hairy reed are causing a shutdown, which isn't really a shutdown by the way. You libtards don't seem to understand we are in a crisis, a FREAKING CRISIS. It's not too little revenue, IT IS TOO MUCH FREAKING SPENDING! See, this is why it does not good to try to reason with libtards because liberalism is a mental disorder. You just beat them. No talk, just do. Republicans want a 61 billion dollar cut, a freaking DROP IN THE BUCKET to the dear leader/pelosi/hairy reed/libtard created deficit. I say shut'r down and see if anybody notices. you libtards have put so many people on the dole, dependent on Father O'dumbo, they get all jittery about this. This is what we get when you elect such an unqualified disaster. And yes, I'd still like to know where the skinny creep was born. So go Trump go. Maybe it takes his independent wealth to ferret out the truth. He can't be bought. I doubt he can be scared. Isn't it odd that there is literally nothing about the Dear Leader until he is an adult? I find that incredibly odd.

His independent wealth my ass.

Independent wealth is when you earn it.

The Donald inherited his wealth and has had some trouble holding on to it, having his businesses go into bankruptcy three times.

What I find incredibly odd are Republicans who support the biggest idiots out there as candidates.  Trump?  Palin?  Bachmann?  Gingrich?

You guys better find someone who has some credibility quick or this is going to be an easy Obama victory.

I don't think they will do that because the last time that happened under Pres. Clinton, the Republicans made fools of themselves. That was the era of Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich who was in hiding until a year ago for dumping a couple of wives. One was dying of cancer while old Newt was playing around with his office females.

Those are half truths and outright lies, rml.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump#Resurgence_.281997.E2.80.932007.29

And finding someone more credible than Obama is as easy as picking any random name out of a phone book
