ORIGINAL: ATEXEN First, I have NEVER seen any statistics on the claim of 6million seniors going hungry, Second, it HAS been proven that the increased load from illegal alians have put a strain the health care system, an increase number of wealfare reciepiants, increased costs in the criminal justice system, increased crime (remember the criminals Cuba sent over mingeled with other refugies). The majority of illegals will tell you they come here for the services, and free stuff they can't get in their home country. They send nearly all of the money they make here to their relatives out of the country and live in free housing, free food, and free medical care. Since they have no health insurance, the citizens have to pay for their doctor bills through higher taxes - they mostly work for cash. I've looked to see what other countries require - you can't get healthcare, government help, a job, make money in any way or send it out of the country WITHOUT BECOMING A CITIZEN if you were not born there. The above is not my opinion, but facts that can be verified and are IGNORED!! The United States has never built a fence around itself - this has changed - today a fence is being built starting from the Texas border on the gulf FACT!! What I said earlier is also facts IF YOU DARE TO LOOK AT THE DATA THAT IS OUT THERE. I have seen the numbers from the people that gather the data. It is public. There is no magic wand, pill, or policy - just the FACTS that are for all to see and quit ignoring them. quote:
Every night, 51 million people in the U.S. go to bed hungry. Of those who don't have enough to eat, 6 million older adults are going without food. These numbers are unacceptable. It's sad to know that the richest country in the world can't provide enough food for its citizens, whether young or old. AARP provided the above statistics. AARP members, staff and volunteers have fought valiantly for years to make America aware of the hunger crisis among elderly persons. Watch and listen to an online multimedia presentation by photojournalist Christopher Anderson and audio journalist Jonathan Miller (with the assistance of food bank worker, Nancy Hueske). The four-part presentation began in November 2010, with "Hungry in America, Part 1: A Little Goes a Long Way". Part 2 is also available as of January 2011, and is titled, "Hungry in America, Part 2: Hard Choices".
