quote:
ORIGINAL: joether Since Jesus is supposively the embodiment of 'Good', each one will state he is the same as their political leanings. Liberals will state he's liberal, moderates and so on to conservatives. Each will give distinctive reasons why Jesus would be a fair representation of their political leanings. quote: ORIGINAL: MrRodgers [...] Dylan was denigrated as was Lennon for their lefty, liberal, dreamy message about just how cynical the world is yet oh so beautiful it could be if just... Could it be, that Jesus is neither Liberal, Moderate, nor Conservative? Could it be that he is each of these at once? Since if he was none of these (or all of these) that would be a totally new form of political thought. Course then it just upsets the whole 'Rock, Paper, Scissors" argument by adding in 'Spock'.... Jesus is alleged to have said not to worry because if you have faith in God, God will provide. It gets more specific than that. God will provide for your needs, not necessarily your desires. But in order for God to provide for your needs, you must do 3 things; 1. have faith in God, 2. have a plan to earn your living and 3. pursue that plan everyday. (The old, "The good Lord helps those that helps themselves" kind of thing.) Nowhere have I found so far is it said that you don't have to work at your own living and you can sit around and drink Colt 45 all day. In fact, isn't it the Old Testament that says that man shall make his living by the sweat of his brow? I don't say an entitlement in any of that. All of that sounds pretty conservative to me. No one is saying that Jesus was the political notion of conservatism but does conservatism espouse the alleged teachings of Christ?
