While your steady stream of personal attacks against anyone with whom you disagree is ugly enough to be cute. Like a big 1970's Citroen.

Nighty-night, love. I've got no more use for your contributions tonight.

Hilariously, every time anyone quotes the New Test(l)ament, it's in the voice of some other cunt than Jesus himself - be it Paul, John, Matthew, Peter or some other poor Palestinian bastard. Sounds like the sons of bitches tried to pony-up on Yeshua's fame. Isn't that kind of weird? I'm appalled that the more editorially minded Christians out there haven't pointed out to that esoteric fact already.

Jesus didn't write any of his own shit!!!

lockedaway -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 9:35:02 PM)

It has already been pointed out.  Read the thread.

slvemike4u -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 9:35:25 PM)

Hadn't he.....passed on by then?

joether -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 9:36:00 PM)

Since Jesus is supposively the embodiment of 'Good', each one will state he is the same as their political leanings. Liberals will state he's liberal, moderates and so on to conservatives. Each will give distinctive reasons why Jesus would be a fair representation of their political leanings.

Could it be, that Jesus is neither Liberal, Moderate, nor Conservative? Could it be that he is each of these at once?

Since if he was none of these (or all of these) that would be a totally new form of political thought. Course then it just upsets the whole 'Rock, Paper, Scissors" argument by adding in 'Spock'....

flcouple2009 -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 9:36:37 PM)

I know your just like a little Sanity.  You don't like having your bull shit pointed out.

Why don't we just start a thread and talk about all of the topics you've started recently for nothing but the purpose of starting crap.

slvemike4u -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 9:38:43 PM)

I think Jesus would frown at such bickering.....I'm yawning myself....see y'all in the morning [:)]

Impossible as it may be to reconcile the two very different Gods of the texts that got mixed together in the Hebrew scriptures, on one hand a loving Father, the protector and shepherd of the 23rd Psalm, and on the other hand a narcissistic psychopathic prick, the liberal Hebrews saw no problem with considering them equally valid aspects of the same God.

Christ, of course, being a conservative, was having none of this schizophrenogenic nonsense. To him, the notion of a loving Father who wants you to kill people who don't worship him was absurd. More than a dozen times in the New Testament he refers to what the people have been taught only to counter it with, "But I say...." something different.

In the end, though, things went the way they usually go in these threads. [:D]

So true. It makes my embryonic Domina fall asleep.

How awful: there I was, thinking that such threads would enable her to grow, as if touched by radioactivity, and Godzilla-like, to a size that no one could ignore.

Jesus has much to answer for *sigh*.

Jesus is alleged to have said not to worry because if you have faith in God, God will provide.  It gets more specific than that.  God will provide for your needs, not necessarily your desires.  But in order for God to provide for your needs, you must do 3 things; 1. have faith in God, 2. have a plan to earn your living and 3. pursue that plan everyday.  (The old, "The good Lord helps those that helps themselves" kind of thing.)

Nowhere have I found so far is it said that you don't have to work at your own living and you can sit around and drink Colt 45 all day.  In fact, isn't it the Old Testament that says that man shall make his living by the sweat of his brow?  I don't say an entitlement in any of that.  All of that sounds pretty conservative to me.  No one is saying that Jesus was the political notion of conservatism but does conservatism espouse the alleged teachings of Christ?

Great post.

Consider the lilies, Locked. But of course, you are supposed to place your faith in God for it to work, not the county building.

Owner59 -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 10:03:19 PM)

This con way of cherry picking the parts of Jesus`teachings is very simalar to their picking and choosing of what parts of our Constitution to follow.

What party is always trying to change the Constitution to limit rights?

A ridiculous tangent.  The question is whether Christ was a liberal and the answer, overwhelmingly so far, is that he was not.  Try to stick to the topic.  If there is some passage of scripture wherein Christ advocates for a large central government, abortion, welfare, confiscatory taxation or cowboy poetry readings, cite to it.

kittinSol -> RE: Was He a Liberal? (4/12/2011 10:35:41 PM)

Lockedaway, DUDE!If you are really interested in some kind of Jesus study you ought to move OUT of collarchat, which is full of perverts, idiotic fanatics, heavens and agnostics and people that just don't know and that spout crappy shit all day. Here you shan't find your answer.

GO BACK TO UNIVERSITY.

(Jesus was still born as a normal man whose life was seized upon by maniacs.)

I read part of the first page... lol

If he was so conservative, why did he run the vendors out of the temple?

Can you be conservative and not a capitalist?

I'd say a short answer to that question would be yes.

On the other hand, I don't think Jesus was conservative.

Actually, locked, Ive been counting the people, not the posts because some folks, Myself included, have posted multiple times and it's about 2:1 that he was liberal.
