Ariane23 -> Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 5:07:53 AM)

Rather than invade the shaved head thread, I thought I'd start one for the opposite view. I love long hair, on men, women, myself, my cats...

An otherwise plain looking person can become very interesting to me if they have long beautiful hair. It's a shame that many men my age lose theirs, although there are thankfully exceptions. I can't spend the rest of my life playing with toyboys after all.

For me it's a fetish. Who else likes long hair, or takes it further into a real fetish?

XXMystiqueXX -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 6:47:09 AM)

As a 70s kinda gal I still get mesmerized by a guy with nice looking long hair.....and if it's dark hair, and he happens to be sporting a goatee ...YUM.......

The long hair seemed to be a requirement for my early boyfriends LOL........yet.........and this shocks even me...........I happen to find the bald Yule Brenner look very hot as well.   But you are not alone..........the long hair thing gets me everytime............

Greetings,

i'll admit right off the bat that i love my long haired pooches! They feed my frou frou fetish quite well. As for the two-legged folks, no, i don't like long hair on everyone and i think some people look gawd awful. What i do appreciate is lovely tresses on individuals that can wear it well. i think there's a certain age where that isn't always the case and going shorter is better. Much of it depends on facial construction and features, physique, condition of the hair, and lifestyle. Men are a notable exception. i usually prefer the short sculpted look, but there are a few rarities that are truly divine with longer locks. But there is a caveat and i would probably lose interest if it's down his back. i'm not into that at all.

Namaste,

~porcelaine

Hillwilliam -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 7:09:04 AM)

I loooooooooooooooooooove long hair on a woman.

As for guys. I don't care one way or another with one exception because I just don't float that way.

A bald dude with a pony tail looks silly as hell and mullets are just plain stupid. (OK, that's 2, sue me)

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 7:37:58 AM)

I don't know if I spend more time on my hair or on my teeth.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 7:51:31 AM)

I prefer long hair on everyone, male or female.  I wouldn't call it a fetish but I'll definitely give more than a passing glance to anyone who has hair mid-back or longer.  My husband and I both have long hair, approximately waist length, although his is naturally curly so it doesn't look as long as it is.

Any man who has long hair automatically gets a second glance from me, regardless of how he looks otherwise. I love men with long hair. Which is kind of funny because I prefer to be shaved bald.

This.

Very very few people actually look good with long hair, especially men.

sheisreeds -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 9:06:25 AM)

I like twisting long hair around my fingers and then pulling really hard ;)

My partner and I both have long hair and that never gets old.

sexyred1 -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 9:21:53 AM)

My hair has always been long, thick, glossy, healthy and pullable. It is now mid back length, layered and I never stop getting compliments on it from men and women.

As for men, I don't care as long as their hair is well kept, flattering on him and healthy.

I do see a lot of people with long hair who seem to have not heard of conditioner or combs, and that is sad.

Oh, and having grey roots; not good.

Kana -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 10:03:25 AM)

Chalk me up as a long hair guy. It's not a fetish, but it is a preference.

i had long hair for years and it was well down my back but i recently hacked it off and it's barely chin length. While my reason for doing so was trend inspired (lolita) i can honestly admit there's a striking difference. i carry my age extremely well but the shearing was a dramatic change. my stylist was comfortable making the switch but the fringe gave her conniptions. She kept asking if i was certain i wanted to do it because i'd look very young. After quite a bit of hesitation she finally added the bang and oh my gosh what the hell was i thinking all these years? There's no way (save some dominant that insists on having Rapunzel) that i'm ever going back! i'll take the easy maintenance and loss of years any day. [;)]

I will have to admit that yes, I have a hair fetish.

Fast Reply~

There is long hair that is styled and full and cared for looking and that to me is gorgeous, but when I see women over 40 ( and I am one ) with long hair that is unstyled and long but just hanging their for sake of being long, it does nothing but age  them, and look so dated. If you are going to keep your hair long it requires maintenance and styling or it will be worse than having short hair. Same thing with long nails that are dirty, unkempt, chipped polish, it is worse than just having clean short nails. If you are going to do it, so it right. On days I don't feel like messing with my hair, it goes into an updo, or a twist, anything to keep it looking chic and in style.

On men, unless you are very young or in a band, I like it short, styled and sleek. I like power players, men in business, etc., so rarely do you see them sporting long hair. Oh and nothing worse than balding on top and trying to compensate with a ponytail.  Shave it off, suck it up, and bald men can be very hot.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 11:27:40 AM)

My hair reaches the crack of my butt and I regularly am complimented on it. I've had it short in the past, but my hair is thick, course and wavy. Short hair was actually more work than having it long. If I am going somewhere special, I will take the time to style it, but the rest of the time it is either twisted in a bun or braided. I have neither the time or desire to style my hair every day (which would 1-2 hours). Silly me, I don't bother with makeup to go to the grocery store either.

As for men, long hair is SO over. Gone with the hair bands. Only guy I wouldn't turn away because of his long hair (extensions no less) is Brett Michaels. It just is a turn off for me. Of course if I met a great guy and the only thing I disliked was he had long hair, it wouldn't matter.

ranja -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 12:17:50 PM)

i have very long hair, and am growing it as long as it will get
i never wear it lose outside the house
it takes less effort to style it than when i had it very short
and it saves me a fortune on hair cuts

Some women look better with short hair and some better with long hair
i generally like shorter hair better on younger women than the older ones
and i don't care much for long hair on men

NuevaVida -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 12:26:32 PM)

As others have said, I like long hair on some people when it's styled, conditioned, and shaped for their face/frame.  Long hair for the sake of long hair doesn't always provide the best look, particularly when the hair is not cared for.

I've never been a fan of long hair on men.

To each their own, though, this is just my own personal preference.

My hair falls to my bra line, is layered, styled and colored.  I tried wearing it really short many years ago and it was a terrible look on me.  Too bad, too, because it was SO easy to maintain that way.  There are certain short styles that just look adorable on women.  Unfortunately, I'm not one of those women, lol.  Plus, I wouldn't be allowed, anyway.  The man likes to grab handfuls.

avena -> RE: Long Hair Fetish (4/17/2011 12:37:27 PM)

Both D and I have long hair. It's not a fetish with either of us, although he definitely has a preference for 'pullable' hair on his partners.

I do notice guys with long hair, and often given second and third glances, but I don't actually have a preference one way or another in regards to hair length. As long as it's neat and well taken care off, I'm happy. That being said, I do love playing with D's hair, something I often do without even thinking about it.

For myself, I will never willingly go back to short hair. Hopefully D never decides he likes the shaved look on me... And I have to admit, I'm one of those women with long, unstyled hair. The closest I get to 'doing' my hair on an average day is putting it up in a ponytail or braid. But then, in my line of work, styled hair just doesn't work so well under a hard hat.

Not true.

I'm 40 and do not process my hair at all.  The most "styling" I do to it is put it up in a ponytail.  It's long, sleek, shiny and I never stop getting compliments on it.  I also rarely get taken for 40.  Most people guess me in the 27-32 range.

When people ask how I care for my hair, I tell them that I use high quality shampoo and conditioner, trim the split ends a couple of times a year and that's it.  I never blow dry, curl or perm it and seldom use dye.  If you want beautiful, healthy hair STOP styling it.  There's nothing worse for aging a woman than dried out, over-processed hair.
