Police can recreate the flight of a suspect by grabbing ATM cameras, store videos, ect. A bus driver here will lose his job because of a security camera that caught him running a red light, hitting a car. That wasnt for "spying" but it is just as useful. The implied tone of your other post suggested it was being used for less than security purposes. So are you saying, that you are for, against or indifferent on the issue of traffic cameras? Your initial posts suggested you were against it. This latest one suggests you find them useful. It's impractical because of the volume. Prior to traffic cameras, you would have to be caught. With a traffic camera, every single violation is captured. I would imagine the difference in numbers to be significant.

But, I can see the usefulness of such items. I can also see the drawbacks. So, im some ways or others, I fit into all three.

Tazz, these same people who say it is ok- will be the first to rant when they get a ticket by mail. I almost look forward to it. My sister got one, and so did the police chiefs kid.

Imo, it can be easy to break the law, there are thousands of laws and some make no sense what so ever. For instance... in some states its illegal to perform oral sex, in some its illegal to have an affair, in some states an erection that shows through a man's clothing is illegal, in Newcastle, Wyoming it is illegal to have sex in a butcher shop's meat freezer. Yup, it can be easy to break the law and not even know it. honest, officer, i slipped and fell, i didnt mean for my mouth to land on his c**k

Oh I've had them several times in the past, (all speeding tickets though) when I lived back home (Hawai`i doesn't have traffic cameras for traffic violations) and I got pissed off every time I got one in the mail. The worst one was when I lived at home and my Dad got it. Woooeee! The shit hit the fan then. They did deter me for quite a while, but I would fall back into old patterns, particularly when I was late for work But...I knew I was in the wrong, so I accepted responsibility for being in the wrong, paid the fines for each one and continued on with life. :)

our cameras are so messed up they take more pics of vehicles either not moving thru the intersection or going thru on green than they do of red light runners.
