We need a trillion in cuts yesterday for the year. Now, the real question...what will you cut? See, it's not that easy. The usual stuff people ramble off comes nowhere near $1 trillion, and ignores the consequences. 50% reduction in military/defense. That's about 500 billion. End all subsidies. Jack the Social Security Age to 70. Restrict procedures/drugs cost caps on medicare coverage, as in medicare will mostly pay for standard procedures and generic/older drugs unless the drug company wishes to price it similiarly. That's close to a trillion, I'm sure. Though could go further without a problem. As in we really should start moving to more private schooling, and oversite of the education system should be wholly the domain of the States and localities. Ban all collective bargaining for all government employees like Obama supports at the federal level, and has been since before he got there. Remove all tenure for teachers. That's a good start for education. Here's a good video to make you froth at the current state of public education. http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_Cartel/70138620 Really, there are a number of ways to reduce Federal and State budgets, but the only prerequisite at the federal level is a drastic reduction in "defense or more correctly OFFENSE" spending". Personally I'm compromising on the "Offense" spending as I'd personally like it slashed by 2/3rds.
