He recieved $1 a year for being president.

Let us not lose sight of the actual point.

Gee and I though his point was that a rich man wouldn't say something like that. That is what he said in his post that I quoted. Now I am really sorry that he doesn't include the Kennedy's when he thinks rich, but I have seen some of their property. Believe me, they are.

However, you still didn't tell me why the Rich cannot be moral enough to simply ask what they can do for their country rather than ask what the country and do for them. It is a simple and often used statement. But it holds the essence of how we got where we are today.

It is an often used statement. I believe it was JFK who first said it. Now last time I checked his family had quite a bit of cash laying around, so if you don't consider him rich, just how much do you have to earn to get that title?

What is your point? Think that family might have paid the price for the dollars they have. Paid the country as well. Don't think you've ever heard them argue about raising taxes on the wealthy. Name one time when they weren't trying to lead the change in this country. If we have every wealthy family doing and serving the same way.....this is a very different country.

My point...that you don't think about what you are saying before you hit that "ok" button.

LOL.....good lord. I know you don't think yours stinks.

The government pays people to not work every day. Ever heard of unemployment? Social Security "crazy checks"? Food stamps?

Yeah don't let a single day go by without demonizing people. If there was a just deity you and I would switch places for a while and you could see how great it is to be disabled.

how many would that be, in the scheme of things?  Compared to the affluent who pay little or no tax?

Considering how hard it is to get the SSA to admit you are disabled I doubt it is a very large percentage.

Most of us are aware that social security and unemployment are insurance policies that the worker pays into and collects from when he becomes qualified for the benifits of that insurance policy.
Should you ever choose to shine the light of knowledge on your opinions you might disabuse yourself of a great deal of your ignorance.

Who was it that said that a Democracy can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury

One would think that the money in the public treasury would belong to the public...so it would seem that you are in favor of the government stripping the public of it's money.

The solution to this problem is to cut spending (at least to a level equal to tax receipts), because there isn't enough money - literally - to fund the status quo.

How bout we stop the war in the sand box and see how that affects the color of the ink at the bottom line.

North Korea and Cuba, countries like that might have their laws so tight that there is no way a creative individual would have difficulty getting money out of the country, sure.

So now the "right wing asshole" is advocating that americans commit federal felonies...is this criminal mind set peculiar to you or is it common to all "right wing assholes"?

As if theres anything new here to comprehend - its the same tired Leninist class envy sermon.

It didnt work for the Soviet Union

So you still believe that the russians were better off under the tsar?

nor is it working for Cuba

By what measure do you feel that cuba was better off under batista?
or Venezuela,

You were aware that hugo gives free heating oil to the poorest of our citizens...one would think that a country that can wage wars of aggression around the world might be able to keep it's own people warm in the winter without having to depend on some socialist for charity.
