This bugs me...It shows a weakness in Obama that I didn't think existed. He should not have given in to this nonsense. It is a mistake that shows he allows silly political maneuvering interferers with affairs of the state. Butch

I didn't believe Obama wasn't born on US soil. It seemed nonsensical because the senior democrats couldn't have kept it hushed up forever and it would have done huge harm to their party when it came out. At the same time though it seems odd he didn't issue the full birth cert til now. I assume it was political maneuvering: let your enemies build a shit storm and then snuff it out an an opportune time, with much egg on the collective face of said opponents.

I never doubted obama was a us citizen for one main reason. Hillary Clinton would have jumped on that tidbit like a starving dog on a steak if it was true. Although I still think he should have shown it when it was a new issue for people and not waited two years. I mean seriously how hard was it to do this.

Perhaps his reluctance to do so had something to do with the fact that no other candidate has ever been asked to do the same.Perhaps he found it demeaning...and more than a little bit tinged with rampant racism to require the first black candidate to do so. Of course I'm just spitballin here [8\|]
