When you're all done calling my friend and I stupid idiots, maybe you'd like to answer my original question, whether or not it's legal? Surely they can follow the trail of the amazon gift cards he ordered her and make an arrest?

Arrest him on what grounds?

It's not like she broke into his place and stole them.  He voluntarily gave her the gift cards.  Exactly what did she promise in return, and was it in writing?

Sorry, but I think your friend is out of luck.

Sure.

However, I would suggest you follow the instructions I gave in my first answer.

He is out of luck because he could have put the money in an envelope, left it on a pro Domina's table, gotten some real life BD/SM experience, and (in the process) become a bit less gullible.

Do you have to be assholes? Like go back and read all the replies to this thread. Welcome to the community indeed.

Yes, we do.  We must be assholes.  Every Wednesday Night we all get together at a clubhouse and discuss how we were assholes that week and what we can do to improve our tyrannical acts.  After that, we play Pac-Man.

That would be incorrect.

I was kidding. I didn't actually do it.

I'm sure you'll all have douchey replies to that statement as well. I figure these forums would be a good place to have an interesting conversation about whether the millions of financial domination scams that occur on here every day are legal or not. But I guess everybody would rather just be assholes.

Seriously.

I'm not sure what to believe now but if what you stated was accurate then your friend was definately ripped off because she agreed to meet him for $400 dollars where there was no promise of sex or whatever which would make it illegal. To the best of my knowledge there would be a verbal or written (emails) contract in place between two people thats legally binding. If there is some sort of citizens advice bureaux around they may be able to help. As a side issue regarding morality, I think its very wrong to say "the guy was an dipshit/douche" etc. for sending money. I see that sort of sentiment a lot on here. Yes of course its stupid but I imagine some people are pretty desperate, especially male subs since dommes are a rare breed. Thankfully I'm not in that category but I can still feel a wee bit of sympathy. I'm sure we all know passions can get the better of good sense.

Cause I'd rather ask on here than have him embarrass himself. Does anybody want to answer my question? You're all being rather rude.
  That's because your friend is a fucking moron and there's no cure for stupid.  If you want legal advice, consult a fucking lawyer.  If you just want to whine about it on the internet, then understand that people may mock you for it.

Answer me a question please, Mod21...

Does it hurt when you snicker and roll your eyes at the same time?

And now...back on topic.

The OP's imaginary friend is a moron.

There, that's the legal bit done. Should avoid the gold-edged love note...

Cuckoo ... cuckooo ... cuckoo

There are scam artists on this site -- I've had three enquiries, of which two were scams: one for money and one for identity [theft]. They didn't get what they were after because I'm a grumpy, old cynic. But, guess what, there are scammers out there in the big bad real world. Most of them are politicians or salespeople. ; ) On this site: be cautious; don't let your hormones rule; if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is; and never wear white after Labor Day.

Sorry to trim these down a little, but...

And why do I have the oh so sneaking suspicion that your friend does not exist? That you took someone for $400 and in retrospect want to know if the law can trace you?

But yeah, you got me. Some guy thought it was real and kept bothering me to meet him. I kept telling him no, leave me alone. Eventually I made him start telling me the weather and news every morning. Then one day he told me he was going to be near where I live on a business trip and wanted to pay me $400 to meet him. I was like, fine, if you want to be a dipshit I won't complain, and I took the money. And now I'm kind of afraid to spend it. Can you blame me?

Great call, ChatteParfaitt.

As for AgonySchmagony...sheesh.  You had better pray that this guy doesn't have a P.I. friend with some time on his hands, lawyer buddies, or cop friends.
Some "dipshits" can be very vengeful and the law might be the least of your worries...

I cannot believe someone came into the message boards and ADMITTED to being a scammer.

Ok, at the top of every email you open ....it says........Wait for it............

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO OTHER USERS FOR ANY REASON

If someone decides to send money (which I am not saying that all transfers are scams but the site suggests it, and surely advises not to when you have not even met someone) then why do they think they have a right to be suprised, shocked, and upset???

Why not make a call to the local police department and ask instead of asking random strangers on the internet who may or may not know the law?

And might lie to you. Any of us could be fakes.

so far i think everyone has behaved very well, barring yourself.

in the first instance;

so if this were real, the 'friend' took an informed risk to try and get his rocks off even though the site says very clearly not to. he's a prat for parting with his money and thinking with his dick instead of his brain.

for you to then come in here and expect free legal advice is really taking the proverbial. why would anyone do that for someone who was clearly warned not to do something? not only that, but why would anyone who knows the legal system give advice without ALL the facts, which in turn could lead to them getting into trouble?

in the second instance;

you are the one who has done this.....i refer you to what everyone else said about the guy, and then your defence of him, and may i point out yourself, even though nothing was actually dirrected at you. however, having then stated that yes this was indeed you who has taken the money, you then go on to insult the guy. in this case, you sweetheart need help from a professional therapist.

in the third instance;

you now retract your admittance and start calling everyone else assholes being far more rude than you accused the good people in here of being. i suggest you take your own advice and reread what has been said in here.

i personally think you have made the whole thing up either because it's something you have done and are now scared of the ramifications, or it's something you are thinking of doing to get money. if all you wanted was a discussion on the legalities then you would have posted it as such. in which case it's very simple; buyer bewear. it's illegal to pay for sex and illegal to sell sex. however, you can pay for a pro dom/me and services that go with it as long as it's not sex. other than that, once again, buyer bewear. do research and don't send money to random stragers over the net. pay huge attention to the wonderful bright red writing that states do not send money to anyone. if after all that you still choose to do it and don't get what you paid for, well more fool you.

I thought so.

The OP has lied three times that she's admitted to, and she's calling *us* assholes? I assume her definition of asshole is someone who can see thru her transparent bull crappy.

To Ms Agony: Don't expect the people here to have respect for posters who lie and con and deceive and then come back and say it was all for fun. If you want respect (from any quarter), show you are someone who can be respected.
