Well, we needed a new conspiracy theory.....

(I apologize if this has been talked about in one of the other threads......I just found out about the burial myself and didn't see it discussed in the quick scan I did.)

Wouldnt someone try to recover the body?

I mean- like they would have to guard the dump site until the sharks ate the body.

I wonder how quickly a body is eaten up by fish.

I think it will add credence to the conspiracy nuts that will insist that Osama died years ago, or he isn't dead at all....unfortunately. I think it would have been wiser to return his body to his family.

First, they would have to have a clue where it is. The average depth of the ocean is 2 MILES and it covers 2/3 of the earth's surface. Who has the resources to find a body (presumably weighted) in that? Btw, it prob won't be sharks that eat it. There are some really nasty and hungry things in the deep abyss. Look up "giant isopods" and "hagfish" for 2 of the more common scavengers down there.

I just finished reading a book called The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill. (Dan Hill's brother,Everytime we touch the honesty is too much, and I think related to Malcom Gladwell who in turn is related to Colin Powell, I think is how it goes)

It is about a woman who was stolen from Africa and literally shipped over to the USA in the mid 1700's and her horrendous tale of disgusting slavery. They threw folks off the ship on the regular, it was where you went when you died or were bad.

It annoys me when it seems anything folks question/talk about other than what you find in the mainstream/pablum media coverage gets called a freaking Conspiracy Theory. I do like all the cute names we make up when folks faction off and ask question or make even ridiculous claims, Crackers, Teabaggers, Birthers etc etc etc etc.

Another Govt --- like say Iran.  Someone with resources.

If this was a murder they would need to weapon and the body.  The burial seems too fast to me.

Iran doesn't have that kind of resources. I daresay that noone has the resources to find a 100 kilo object that is "somewhere on the bottom of the ocean. Look how long it took to find the wreckage of that Brazilian airliner. Thousands of kilos of metal.

I agree the burial was fast but I agree that it needed to go someplace where they couldn't make a 'shrine' out of it. They have been planning this hit since February. I assume garbage disposal was part of the plan.

You may be confused by things like time. The article plainly states that it was as of last night.

And if you think it was "too soon" you might want to familiarize yourself with Islamic burial traditions. The one thing in all of this that might actually have been OBumbler's direction was to observe Islam so as to not further inflame relations.

They could have buried him in one of the foundations for the new complex at ground zero... with a bible and Torah.

It was sloppy because they should have cremated the body first.

Not that I am an expert on it....
