With a majority now, Harpers hands arent tied anymore. In the US, to get laws passed, the politicians have to trade favors and you scratch my back i scratch yours so when that happens, good ideas get watered down and everything gets so convoluted that it all becomes almost unworkable. For Obama to implement the health plan it ended up being what, 1000 pages long??? Does anyone understand it after all the politicians have added and deleted and sliced and diced? Even tho Harper has had a minority govt for 5 years, Canada's economy is the envy of many countries, and imo he deserves credit for that. Sure there are people that will disagree with me but even in the best economy there will be people that still bitch and want more. But comparing the Canadian economy with the US or various other countries that have had to go begging for $ from the IMF, Canada is doing pretty good, imo. I dont see much if anything changing as far as the US or the rest of the world goes, Harper has been Prime Minister for 5 years, he has been meeting leaders of other countries all along. Why would anything change? I also dont see this as history being made. Its not like there havent been elections in Canada for some time now. [8|] Of course this is all my opinion and I dont speak for anyone else.
