Darling those are definitely *not* wine coolers. Wine on average is from 10 to 12 or 13% alcohol, so the "classics" that RS posted are a tad more hard core. Cheers. Or...bottoms up! [;)].

What a bunch of pussies!  He wants "bang" for the buck.  Not one of you cretins mentioned the best cheap wine that has "bang".  The truly cultured in cheap wines all prefer Night Train Express 17.5% alcohol

Poor but acceptable substitutes:
Thunderbird 18% alcohol
Richards Wild Irish Rose 18% alcohol
MD 20/20 (Mad Dog) 18% alcohol

No . . . not Ripple!  It's only 11% alcohol.
No . . . not Cisco! It's not wine, it's a beverage (wine cooler) with 13% - 19% alcohol.

*Beware the Thunderbird, MD & Wild Irish Rose wine versions that are only 13% alcohol.

(for those that don't know I am joking . . . seriously, what were you thinking?)

Yep Yep what RS said.
PA.. why do you need booze?  Who are you going to be banging ?

Anyone "in the know" would point you to this Loonjuice - it's even been specifically mentioned in the Scottish parliament for it's unfortunate effects - and image!

I cant beleive the liquor store is gone.  I wonder where it went.

pahunkboy -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 2:03:08 PM)

I bet they moved it closer to the project.  I am thirsty too.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 2:05:27 PM)

^  the case of the missing liquor store?  I have heard of liquor stores getting robbed but they never took the whole store itself.

pahunkboy -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 2:12:55 PM)

It moved-  I never noticed it till now.  Which will mean I either learn the new location- or go back to my old neighborhood and buy it there.   Of course they arent open on Sundays either...

littlewonder -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 2:40:16 PM)

well if you're hard up for liquor and it's a weekend or after hours you could always hit up the local bar. Any place in PA I lived or grew up you could get a bottle of hard liquor or beer to take home. Some might have wine...not sure though since I only have ever bought wine at the independently owned spirits stores or wine stores. I've found the state liquor stores sell horrible cheap brands of wine.

FelineFae -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 4:39:06 PM)

Lets do some absinth.

i've never had any, i was a shop-slave in a bulk herb store, and hated the smell of wormwood,
so i never did any of the bootlegged stuff nor the US version now available...
but...
it is claimed to have helped other writers, so maybe a roll with the green faery is what i need.[&:]

Just that store or your town is dry on Sunday?

BurntKitty -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 8:26:50 PM)

Wanna make a "B- double e double r-u-n?"

ResidentSadist -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/7/2011 8:38:16 PM)

^ Beer Run... LOL.  I knew people that lived in mid-west dry towns and used to smuggle them beer.

pahunkboy -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/12/2011 4:15:41 PM)

So I made it to the old neighborhood- even drove past the old house.   Reunite blackberry- 3 liter-  15.99,  16.95 w the tax.  I did not see any of the wines listed in this thread.  They moved it all around from when I lived there.   I see they do have a website to shop.....preshop.

The taste is not the worst-  not the best- but ok.    I wont notice on the 2nd glass.  lol

PS_  the mofo did not card me this time!!!!   I should have been carded.   Who do I complain to?

ShaharThorne -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/12/2011 4:29:28 PM)

I prefer wine coolers.  Once in a while a Bud Lite.  Because I am on so many meds, I am going dry.  The tannins in wine make me sick anyway.

girlygurl -> RE: Would anyone here like a glass of wine? (5/12/2011 5:15:40 PM)

I had a glass of prosecco on Christmas (well, maybe two glasses). It was really good. It's an Italian sparkling white wine.... Now that I think of it, it was actually a bellini. Prosecco with peach puree. It was really really good.

OK, I had three glasses, who's counting!
