One wonders why he keep honoring the anniversary then.

This is just getting silly.

SilverMark -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:41:57 AM)

Sanity, Have you been drinking? The View is now considered news media?
Even the gravitas of Barbara Walters doesn't make it anymore than a group of ladies sitting around and discussing POINTS OF VIEW. Get it, points of VIEW?
Opinion based discussion no more makes the View part of the news than Hannity's opinion makes Faux News anything more than a side show of like minded right wing types.

Owner59 -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:43:19 AM)

Well for someone who considers foxnews, news media,thinking The View is news media isn`t a stretch.But cons hate most all media,unless they own and control it soviet-style.Gonna be a lot of sore grapes and sore pusses over the coming months.[:D]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barack Obama=Mission Accomplished
george bush=Misery Accomplished
Pretty clear choice.
Soon, the cons will accuse the President of timing this to influence the election.Guaranteed.Mark my words.
mnottertail -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:43:54 AM)
Yes, and what does that have to do with either a housewifey The View, or Walter Cronkite?
DomKen -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:44:17 AM)
You guys have to let up on sanity, he got busted trying to push Rush's lies and now he has to wait for Rush or Breitbart or some other right winger to give him his new talking points.
Lucylastic -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:52:02 AM)
You are right Ken, its bad form to show contempt to someone who is dangling in the dark waiting for orders
I feel guilty again
oh hang on,
nope it was a hiccup
Sanity -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 7:52:40 AM)
Barbara Walters, Mark. Whats noteworthy is that shes showing her true colors. Like Dan Rather, she was a leftist Sean Hannity / Rush Limbaugh type all along...
Its funny how leftists like to try to poke fun at me for not hating Rush Limbaugh like they do yet they have for years had bleating hearts such as Walters and Rather passing off leftist talking points as "news" and have failed to even notice it
The difference between conservative pundits and leftist pundits is that conservatives acknowledge their bias, whereas leftists by and large are totally unaware that they have their strong bias
He reminds me of the hopeless,pathetic conspiracy theorist who waits and waits and waits for that one moment of vindication that`ll make all-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l the embarrassment,testical shriveling,weird looks,rejection and ridicule,.......worth it.
If only that moment would come!!!
SilverMark -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 8:26:20 AM)
The View though is much like any other opinion driven show and it has been a long time sinc Barbara was involved in HARD News.
Lucylastic -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 8:34:47 AM)
Im not sure why but the two most  ardent opponents of the view on this part of the fora  are the ones that talk about it the most
Ive never seen an episode and I'm a woman, a housewife even, but these two big strong manly men think they are important in the leftists lives
Me thinks they doth protest too much
*yes I know thats not the exact quote*
I bet they sit there in their footie jammies jerking off to the anger the ladies inspire
Barbara Walters is like Walter Cronkite, a person who we have been lead to believe in, someone we could trust as a journalists journalist
Havent you heard, or did you forget
The View? It's a talk show for housewives. "The media"?
Viewers have REALLY got to bring some smarts to their watching.
That said, I agree it's over the top.
BabaWawa and Walter Cronkite in the same sentence. It's a NEW LOW folks.
One was a respected journalist and the other was the butt of jokes on Saturday Night Live.
YUP, identical I tell ya [sm=alien.gif]
She was co-anchor of the ABC Evening News for a couple of years in the 70's and when she first started doing interviews on 20/20 she did lots of interviews of figures in the news.
hlen5 -> RE: Cracking the ironclad GOP demographic. (5/5/2011 11:09:25 AM)
Barbara Walters was the one western journalist that was able to interview Castro.
I'm not saying she has the gravitas of Edward R Murrow, but the gender bias exposed on this thread is not a surprise.
The question was, would the success of Obama being at the helm of running OBL to ground change the opinions of those who call themselves Republicans.
So who will appreciate the Osama killing the most?  I contend that it's the folks that have blue collar leanings, that like guns, that are the "salt of the earth". The ones that have always been suspicious of Obama.  The rock-solid GOP demographic.
I wonder, if there's any chance for Obama to crack this group after killing OBL....  If he can peel some of them away permanently from the GOP, then the GOP is in deep trouble.
Right now, they're kinda confused.  I've read some comments that Obama really didn't do anything and was simply using the system that Bush provided him.  That somehow OBL's killing was really Bush's doing.  For example, Palin made a speech yesterday in Colorado in which she lauded the servicemen who carried out the task, and Bush for having fought terrorism, and pointedly omitted any mention of Obama.
I don;t think that Obama will get any love from this demographic.  He's black, he's educated at an Ivy League school, and his values don't mesh.  But they're gonna be confused for a while.
This will have so close to zero impact a year and a half now speculation about where he will pick up a few thousand votes is irrelevant
President Obama won`t have to say any words.All he`s gotta do is show up.
That`s pretty close to Nov. 2.[:D]
LOL, he could win as a write in.   Who is there that could glean more than perhaps a slight lead in their home state on the republican side?
There are far far more things in common and that we all share with every person on the earth,then what devides us.Culture,religion,color,sexuality,customs and languages are just a percentage of a percentage compared to the thousands of things all humans share.
We must not focus on what devides people or seek to exploit those differences.This us against "them" mentality is a race to the bottom.
Not really. He handled it pretty much the way I would have expected him to.
Did you listen to his speech?
"I, me, my..."
This is right out of Rush's program. The transcript of the announcement is available and he never used the first person except when referencing something he actually did, like calling the Pakistani government.
