Seriously, was BabaWawa EVER involved in hard news?

She was co-anchor of the ABC Evening News for a couple of years in the 70's and when she first started doing interviews on 20/20 she did lots of interviews of figures in the news.

You are correct, she was coanchor..... and she sucked. Couldn't even read a teleprompter well. They found her niche doing interviews. I guess folks were comfortable around her.

Yes, Obama delivered the news himself. But at least he did it from the White House rather than dressing up like Johnny Rocket and flying to an aircraft carrier to make the announcement.

I wonder, if there's any chance for Obama to crack this group after killing OBL.... If he can peel some of them away permanently from the GOP, then the GOP is in deep trouble.

Right now, they're kinda confused. I've read some comments that Obama really didn't do anything and was simply using the system that Bush provided him. That somehow OBL's killing was really Bush's doing. For example, Palin made a speech yesterday in Colorado in which she lauded the servicemen who carried out the task, and Bush for having fought terrorism, and pointedly omitted any mention of Obama.

I don;t think that Obama will get any love from this demographic. He's black, he's educated at an Ivy League school, and his values don't mesh. But they're gonna be confused for a while.

This will have so close to zero impact a year and a half now speculation about where he will pick up a few thousand votes is irrelevant

I'm not talking about this in terms of the 2012 election. I'm wondering if Obama can make a few cracks in the imperviousness of this demographic.
