Oke, my english spelling skills may not be perfect but I'm working on it. But thanks for correctioning me.....

And all about your statement over Europe? Plz leave it. As most of the Dutch people want to get out of this European Union, get their own currency back. And do not want to contribute to this Agricultural scam. Coz' that is what it is... a scam.

The whole European Union in its existance is a overrated moneyconsuming 9-head dragon btw.

Your spelling is OK with me, I meant to make light of it, just was saying that I knew what you meant.

But in one of your last posts you claimed that it's not about what Americans actually are, but who they appear to be. There are more than a few here arguing that we should not take the media at their word on everything, not swallow the 'easy explanation,' etc. So pardon if some of us do not care about what Europeans 'think' who are so lazy in that same way too.

between land law and monetary system with the military back up the complacency and lack of knowledge of the people they own it all.  Easily provable beyond any shoadow of a doubt simply by the lawform they use to come after you if you dont pay what is the equivalent of the mafia extortion bill and its legal because the legislative democracy said so!

Ok- I read the replies.

We, the US lose out when we are so smug that we can not learn and grow from constructive criticism.  We presume there is not a better way to do things- and fall for the sound bite.

There is proud- and then there is boastful, pompous and foolish.

We have 3 wars going on- now- and I doubt anyone here actually is happy over that.

I wish we had the tools to actually be a voice in governance-  I wrote congress ad nausion- and it does NOTHING.   It really is frustrating-  we have no voice in how things are done here. It is all managed- as is the news- the process....  a 24 hour infomercial.

If peons on this board knew how to fix the shortcomings we sure would.  Teach us how to fix it...   which speaks to the article as the general attitude is-  butt out.     Yikes.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Why people hate America (5/6/2011 6:25:55 AM)

And, I was just saying it is amazing that Europeans can have such views. Concentrate on rectifying pulling all the gold and diamonds out of South Africa without giving them any benefit.....not on hating the US

I am not saying butt out. Have an opinion. But base it on facts of history not what you want it to be. We as a country have done many bad things. However, through our gov't , our music, our movies....we seem to address these things quite well. Would be nice if Europe did the same for once.

Why people hate America. Who cares is the simple answer. That dingdong obama cares... he goes all over the world kissing ass... we are so sensitive to that scum osama to give him a "proper" muslim burial? Guess what? The perpetual rage of the muslim street is still there. We waste too much time on their tender feelings. I'd give my military a month to wreck havoc on afghan and iraq... then say.. there ya go, have a nice day. Instead we play games and build hospitals instead of going after our enemies.

But you don't get it do you, whilst America is capable of punching with massive firepower and fielding massive feet on the ground, enemies can strike you within, with precision and then fade back into the populace, whilst the massive firepower in it's indiscriminate action actually creates world condemnation for the innocent caught up in the action, not to mention the fact that even in that massive discharge, of firepower people do escape.

One thing I learned in the military, guerilla warfare does not play by the rules, therefore the fielding of large numbers of boots on the ground is more about image than action, far more can be achieved by small covert specialist forces as has recently been demonstrated in pakistan. Personally, I would expect world armed forces to go more along these lines as fielding large standing armies is expensive and often wasteful.

But, it is not the Mooslims you have to set your fear based sights on, because Mooslims are not the only ones displeased with the American machine, there are others and born in America too.

ArizonaBossMan -> RE: Why people hate America (5/6/2011 6:30:45 AM)

Why oh why do some of you care whether the USA is loved or not? Look, everybody and their freaking uncle still want to come here. When people here start bailing on America, which could happen if this ding dong gets four more years, then really worry. Where else can we go? MARS?

that is correct because you are subject to the trusts put in place as a beneficiary and they are the trustee, so its comes down to shut up sit down and let them do their thing.  When the reality was supposed to be a business contract that one could adjust or pull out at any time.  not so.  Its that perpetual union thing and they have a lien against your ass for 40,000 bucks.

We've got ding dong for another five years. I think you should bail.

Sooner the better.

Make our country better. Leave.

you cant tell that to any of the media trained backwards key board commando's on the boards preaching trust.  not trust God, or your neighbor but the very people who orchestrate or execute it.

I know and thanks...

And you're right, it is pure lazyness and following the flock. Seems to be easier to 'man' than thinking for yourself and being a critic.
I do have my own ideas...and ventilate them now and then......
When I make a comment I actually make it from my own view and sometimes it is the common feeling as it lives in Holland.
People not interested can surely leave my postings unread.

Not to worry. We are communicating and hopefully learning here.

Funny, someone else said that recently, but then as you might be aware if anything is contentious, then i believe it needs to aired or else it will just fester under the surface and poison the future.

I've just started reading the article and it is far less inflammatory than the title suggests. I can't fault the German stance at the time the article was written (late September, 2001)

Opinion polls show that half the German population is openly critical of US leadership for a number of reasons:
- Its failure to consult its allies as promised.
- Its refusal to sign up to joint action against global warming.
- Its protectionist stance on trade issues such as steel and agriculture.

Will finish the article and no doubt have more to say at that time. I think people should actually READ it before commenting.

So, you admit to not reading the full article while chastising others for not doing the same?

How interesting!

xssve -> RE: Why people hate America (5/6/2011 6:59:43 AM)

The one thing that missing here is evidence that anybody actually hates America, other than a few European intellectuals who probably hate everybody.

Many have a jaundiced view of American economic and foreign policies, often with good reason.

People who bitch about this often mistake criticism of these policies for "hating America", which is a propaganda technique called "appeal to emotion", an infamous conservative rhetorical device in the recent past.

Presumably, the same tactic might be used to try and effect change in these policies, i.e., "they'll stop hating us if we stop doing X", but you're still putting words in peoples mouths, which is, strictly speaking, an unethical tactic.

The fact that the whole thing is based on manipulation of fundamental attribution error bothers me, I don't take it from conservatives, not sure why I should take it from anybody else.
